Chapter 5

2597 Words
After soaking in deep regret from the infirmary I was able to get myself up and leave as soon as the day ended. The pain killer took about 45 minutes to kick in and when it did I didn't feel any nagging or stabbing pain in my back anymore especially when I was finally able to stretch. Zarina had texted me and told me that she was waiting for me by my car. I had waited until most of the students left in order to avoid the rush of students all trying to run home as quick as possible. I had managed to see Derek on my way out but he was leaned up against the locker talking to some cheerleader so I didn't want to disturb his chances. However it didn't plan out the way that I wanted it to because we made eye contact and he started waving me over quickly. "Hey Reiya," he said with the biggest smile on his face. I couldn't help the smirk that was creeping its way onto my face while I walked over to him. Derek slung his arm around my shoulder and planted a kiss on the top of my forehead. "Annmarie this is my main girl Reiya. Reiya this is Annmarie." He pointed back and forth between us while still holding onto my shoulder. I was confused. I didn't know what he was trying to do by introducing me to a girl and quite honestly I didn't care. I just wanted to hurry up and meet Zarina so we could talk about what happened at the infirmary. More than likely she was going to come up with a crazy plan to figure out what Dameon is hiding and quite honestly I would be all for it as long as I don't end up in jail. "Hello," I gave her a small wave. Looking at her clearly she was pretty. Short dirty blond hair that reach here shoulders, the ends weren't cut evenly which gave her some sort of rustic appeal. Her eyes were a dark brown and she had a huge smile on her face.  "Hi!" That was all she said. Awkward silence fell on all of us.  "So Reiya are you feeling better? I feel bad about what happened at the party and I didn't get the chance to ask Zarina for your number to talk to you about it? When I see that kid..." Derek cut through the silence and was now staring at me intently. His grip on my shoulder tensed up almost painfully and I could see him gritting his teeth. "I'm fine don't worry." I tried patting his arm but he was too frustrated to notice.  "You know you're hurting her right?" Annmarie said, snapping her fingers in front of his face. I could see the realization come onto his face and instant regret sank in. Derek quickly let go and turned me around to face him, it was weird to see him staring deep into my eyes but given the serious look on his face I couldn't bring myself to tell him to back off.  "You know I would never intentionally hurt you right?"  "Yes," I smiled. I've never seen Derek this serious before. I patted him on the shoulder to give him a reassuring smile. "Plus I just took some pain killers so it's not that bad. I'll probably just go home and do some school work so I'll see you later." I turned towards Annmarie and mouthed 'thank you' before flashing her a smile and leaving the two alone.  The school had been emptied and most of the cars that occupied the lot were gone. The bike rack was completely vacant and all that was left in the lot were a few kids. Those who did tricks on their skateboards, athletes, and Zarina who was leant against my car. She was occupied on her phone staring intently at the screen. Her face would scrunch up and she would try to bring the phone closer to her face as if there was something that she couldn't quite see. “You know you’re just making it worse?” I sighed. It took her a few seconds before she could look up at me fully. She turned her phone in front of my face and showed the sign from the club. It was the night time neon sign of the human wrapped tightly around the viper. “What’s so special about this sign?’ “Nothing really there’s just something about it that seemed cool to me. Anyways what’s on the agenda?” She stood up straight and smiled. I couldn’t help but sigh at the fact that Zarina was so random, however it was her randomness that reassured me. I walked around the car, opening up the door and sat myself comfortably in the seat. Zarina planted her but firmly in the passenger seat and turned on the radio. The music was low and I could feel her staring at me as if she was waiting for a response. “Are you going to tell me what’s up?” “Just wanted to open a message with my best friend. I got it while I was in the nurse’s office. So how about we go to my house and relax. The pain medication might wear off soon and I’d like to be in my house when it does.” I started up the car fully and reversed out of the lot. Zarina didn’t question me, instead she turned her attention back to her phone. On the way out of the lot I noticed a figure dressed in all black slightly limping along the sidewalk. Although I couldn't see their face I felt a shiver along my spine. I shook my head and drove off trying to prevent my mind from thinking about Dameon.  "I'm glad you're feeling a bit better," Zarina said however she was still staring into her phone.  "Yeah. I took a nap and a pain killer." I bit back my tongue from saying anything more. It was hard not to tell Zarina about my encounter with Mr. Tall, Dark, and Broody however I know that if I did she wouldn't believe me if I said nothing happened. Plus I had already promised him that I wouldn't say anything to anyone. Once again the thought of his back had crossed my mind and I found myself wincing when I remembered each and every scar that was visible. Scars like those were hard to come by, not from a car accident or even a skating accident but I couldn't quite put my finger on how they happened. I couldn't help but think that I had a genuine problem when it came to trying to figure out dark and mysterious bad boys. I don't know if it came from writing book, watching stories, or if this was something that was always deep within me however I didn't really like the way it made me feel sometimes however I thought this was my best self. Me being honest.  "That's all? You look like you have something on your mind? Is it about the dare?" From the corner of my eye I saw Zarina put her phone down. She placed her elbow on the window and leaned towards it so her body was positing facing me. "No.Why would you even think that?" "Cause I know how you get. You get in your head and start to overthink these things. If it's too much we can think of another favor."  "It's not that. I was just thinking about the message I got on Gizmo. It was from Cloud Publishing so I'm thinking that maybe I have to step my game up. I wanted to wait until we got to my house to tell you who it was from but if I'm worrying you then we can open it now."  "What the f**k! Obviously it's good news. Have you read the type of books you write? Have you seen your numbers?! You'd have to be an i***t to think otherwise. Step on it!" She slapped the dashboard and I couldn't help but giggle at her. She turned up the radio and the song 'Still Don't Know My Name' by Labrinth was playing.  I could feel my fingers tapping along to the song but I wasn't in the mood for singing. Whilst driving faster my mind was having doubts about whether or not my books was good enough for a deal. Zarina didn't push the issue either. She just remained quiet while I drove the rest of the way home and I was thankful.   ***   "Ugh! Your bed gets softer and softer every time I come over!" Zarina moaned as she tossed herself backwards in my bed. I couldn't help but giggle. "No like seriously it feels like clouds." "I'm glad my bed brings you so much joy." I rolled my eyes and settled myself onto my computer desk. I opened my MacBook waiting for the screen to greet me with a flash of colors. It turned on and I entered my password quickly.  "Are we checking the message now?" Zarina said as she made herself comfortable on my bed. I watched as she grabbed a pillow and tucked it firmly against her as if it was a boyfriend who'd be holding her closely. I couldn't fight the smile that formed on my face as she did this because it looked innocent. "Not right now. I want to finish writing this chapter first and then I'll check out the message. Why not put on a movie? Get me in a writing mood please," I batted my eyes before turning back to my laptop. The Gizmo site was already up and asking me to continue where I left off.  "Magic Mike XXL it is," Zarina squealed in excitement. "The guys are hot!" I could hear the TV sounds surfing through the channels before the movie sounded out. "Lord this will be amazing!" My attention was fully tuned into my story now at this point. I wanted to devise a plan for Carla to get revenge. Now that she had come to terms with the fact that she's interested in Angelo. She should be more assertive with her character or maybe conniving. I wasn't entirely sure but I was going to map it out in that way. And that's when I felt it. No warning whatsoever. Angelo plunged a finger into my warmth and I gasped in shock. He took this opportunity to slide his tongue in my mouth while his fingers pumped into me coating them in my juices. Angelo wasn't gentle with me, he made sure to play with my clit and push me to the brink. "Oh f**k" I could feel the strain in my body and I was so close to the explosive feeling but it stopped. Angelo pulled away and left me dumbfounded. He had a smirk on his face and walked towards the door, "Not today Mi Cara."  That was all he said and then he left the room leaving me in a horny shock on the couch. My breathing slowed and I was just blinking at the door now. "That son of a b***h left." I could only stare at the door in disbelief. He had really left. Leaving me on the couch disheveled and in dire need of him. My mind was torn between aggravation and desperation; wanting to strangle Angelo for putting me in a state of submission and wanting to possibly ride him while choking him until my body caves out from pleasure. Maybe I was in over my head however I was going to make him pay for leaving me wanting more . Pushing myself off the couch, I straightened out the wrinkles from my dress and combed my fingers through my hair violently. Despite my best to pull myself together, the heat between my legs wouldn't dissipate. The space that had been throbbing erratically had slowed but still throbbed hard enough to remind me that I had just been moments away from an orgasm that would've shattered me. It was only his fingers imagine what HIS- Enough! I had smacked both my cheeks hard enough to shake those sinful thoughts away. I exited the private lounge and emerged at the top of the stairs that looked overhead the casino. The various amounts of people in the building had been a mix of wealthy and poor class who were trying to get lucky with a slot. The machines rang loud telling the poor saps that they had just lost a good chunk of their money, however this only motivated them to try again. Once you start betting, it's hard to stop. My eyes drifted back and forth between the crowd before landing on Angelo who had quickly made himself comfortable in a crowd. I couldn't bite back the anger that nipped at me fiercely, not because he was talking to men in suits. Oh no, it was because he had his arm draped around a beautiful women. His hands held her waist tightly as he pulled her in close nuzzling his face in the crook of her neck. I watched carefully, the way he feathered her neck with kisses, as I made my way down the steps. His gaze had caught mine, and I knew by the smirk he didn't even bother to his. Two can play that game. I swayed my hips while I walked between the crowd. Between glancing at Angelo and scouting the crowd, an attractive man had caught my eye. His dark hair had been gelled a bit, style into a small pompadour. Nothing outrageous. He sported a black suit, tie tucked neatly. He had a watch adorned on his wrist, other than that, no rings or anything. "Perfect," I whispered. I made my way over to him making sure that my dress, which was short, didn't ride up on me revealing my ass. The red dress Angelo had picked out for me had hugged my body in all the right places. The shimmer had gone perfect with the loose curls that I had styled my hair into. My heels had matched the dress to a T. The sparkles glinting with every strut complimented with the perfect height for me.  I had stopped just short of the stranger who was in the middle of taking a sip of bourbon from his glass. I noticed his downcast gaze on me over the cup and I couldn't help the shiver that made its way down my spine. His eyes were a piercing green and I could see a glint behind them, however despite the occasion and how classy he was dressed; this man oozed s*x, more like he oozed Domination. Not nearly enough as Angelo but close enough. The men that had been conversing with him had stopped and stared at me. I refused to be a little lamb swallowed up by wolves so I held my head up refusing to break eye contact with the handsome stranger in front of me.  "Hello," he said, his husky voice making my core throb.  Let the games begin... I leaned back in my chair, letting the last bit of the words rolled off my fingers and onto the screen. I was pleased with what I had written down. I had quickly hit the publish button before my insecurities could get the better of me. I heard Zarina's phone ding with a notification and all I could is smile.
