Chapter 2

"How about this one," Zarina said and stepped out of her bathroom wearing a black miniskirt with a white crop that had a rose in the middle. "I'm thinking I could pair it with a spiked choker necklace and bracelet set." I looked at her carefully staring at the way her skirt hugged her curves tightly revealing a lot of legs. Her crop left little to the imagination since it started at the top of her breast and ended just a little underneath them. I could tell she was proud of this outfit and was definitely looking for some action tonight whether it be with Gavin or someone new. Zarina only brought out the choker when she wanted to be dominated, which is what she told me. "I think you should switch the skirt for some leggings and wear the set. The shirt is nice and all but I think the leggings with the right pair of shoes will look even better. That way you can tease and not let too much out at the same time." I said after thinking for a few. I could see her fighting the smirk on her face. She went towards her closet and grabbed a pair of leggings from the top shelf and went straight into the bathroom. She came back a few minutes after, twirling out the bathroom as she stopped in front of me. I didn't even notice until after looking at her thoroughly that she had her choker and bracelet on. Zarina pulled her hair out of her ponytail and flashed me a wide smile. "Have I ever told you how much I love you," she said throwing herself on me. Her arms wrapped around me and she squeezed tightly almost knocking the air out of my body for a second. It took me a moment to breathe again but when I did all I could do was pat her head in response. When she pulled away, she grabbed my arm and yanked me over to her vanity mirror. "Sit." I sat down with no objections and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I didn't care much for my appearance as long as I looked decent then there was no reason for me to go above and beyond with makeup and skin brighteners. "You're beautiful you know that. I wont even apply foundation." Zarina cupped my face from behind me with both her hands. I could tell that she wanted my freckles to show, she always told me how jealous she was that I had them. "So you're going to jab eyeliner in my eyes?" "Something like that." I laughed when she came around me, pulling mascara from her makeup set on top of the desk. I closed my eyes and let her cover the top of my eyelashes before moving onto lining my eyes with the eyeliner pencil. It took her a bit longer because I kept blinking to prevent my eyes from watering too bad. However Zarina didn't mind she just waited patiently until I stopped being a baby before continuing. Lastly she added a nude lipstick to my lips and finish by smacking my cheek lightly. 'I'm proud of myself." She smiled and stepped back. I just stared at myself for a bit. She did my makeup enough to make me look natural and not like a padded down prostitute. "Yeah yeah can we just get this over with already. I'm dreading this party and I can feel Carla crying out to me right now." I rolled my eyes but nonetheless smirked. "I should strangle you for leaving Carla like that." "It's no fair that Angelo is the only one who gets to experience blue balls." "It's fair if she was kidnapped," Zarina scoffed. "Fair but no one told her to want him at that point." "You did! You're writing the damn story," she laughed and pulled me out of her room. I laughed in response and shrugged my shoulders but followed her straight past her brother's room and out the door. I guess her mom must be sleeping already, since she wasn't in the living room anymore like when we first had gotten there. I didn't even realize that we spent so much time fooling around and trying on outfits that the time was now eight at night. My mom had left for work around five and wouldn't be home until seven in the mornin so I figured that I'd go home around 11 depending on how I feel. "I just want you to know that I'm determined to get you laid this year. What kind of friend would I be if I let you go into college with your cherry still intact." "A great friend actually," I rolled my eyes and got into my car. I wasn't worried about her antics because she wouldn't force me to do anything especially if I didn't want to. Zarina plopped her butt right next to me in the passenger seat and turned on her GPS. "I would feel like I failed at life though, by the way I forgot to mention that the party is in some club on the outskirts of town." 'Wait so it's not at Derek's house? Why?" This made me raise my brow because Derek's house was cool. It was a two story house with a basement that was almost as big as a dancehall plus he had a door leading into a man cave. His living room was big enough to hold a good amount of people and his kitchen was amazing, also fully stocked. "I don't know but I do know that we're heading to 45 Valhalla Plane," she said as she typed the coordinates on her phone and soon enough it popped up. "Viper's Den? That's an odd name." "Sounds like a perfect name to get groped and harassed by a bunch of weirdos. You sure you still want to go?" I was hoping she'd change her mind and decide to stay in so we could watch movies. "Positive. Think of this as a opportunity to get an idea about a club scene. Every experience is like a story waiting to be told and when you experience it, it's easier to write." "Ugh I hate it when you make sense," I groaned and pulled the car out of the parking spot making my way towards the club. "I always do my friend. You just don't think hard enough to understand it properly," she winked. Her hand went towards the radio and she started flipping through stations trying to find the right one. After searching for a while she gave up and connected her phone to the car pressing play on a song. I was so focused on driving to the right place that I didn't even notice that she was playing my favorite song. Yeah, I beat my face Moving fast 'cause the Uber on the way Taking pictures, make sure you can't see no lace That wig secure like the money in a safe I look like bae Now I'm on the way Let you know when I'm 'bout a mile away When I'm outside please don't make me wait The party starting when we pull up to the gate Girl, we so late I usually know by the beat but I didn't pick up until I heard the word bae. I started swaying along with the song and I couldn't help but dance along while driving making sure that I don't crash into any cars next to me. "I'm just with the crew. We ain't out here looking for boo.'Cause some nights be better with you. It's a homies only kind of mood. And tonight we on a hundred, One hundred," I sang making sure to hit every high note. "That's my best friend!" Zarina laughed. She joined in on the chorus and soon enough we were both swaying back and forth, feeling the rhythm. Ooh, ooh That's just what I do, do, do And that's just how we do it, do it, do it Yeah, that's just how we do it, do it, do it You liking what I do? Do you know how to keep it cool? Ooh, ooh And that's just how we do it Yeah, that's just how we do it And you could do it too, ooh, ooh, ooh Both of our 'oohs' just blended, nobody said we sounded nice but then again we didn't care whether we did or not. The song was so much fun and that's all that mattered right now. "At the next light, make a right," the GPS said cutting through the song, I made sure that I turned right doing a body roll as I turned. However my eyes caught sight of the outside and I immediately stopped dancing in order to take in the scenery around me. "In about a mile you're destination will be on the left." While driving straight down, the building were starting to look old, covered in graffiti and some were boarded up. The sidewalk had plenty of potholes littered in trash and between the alleyways I could see people laying on the ground. I had no idea if they were dead or not. "You sure the place is around here?" I asked, feeling my hands tighten on the steering wheel. "Yes. Valhalla Plane is just over this," Zarian said and pointed straight. I also noticed that traffic had started to die down when I crossed over here, it was just people who were standing around huddled over each other. Nonetheless I had to shake off this feeling and just speed there. I pressed my foot down on the gas harder and soon enough the scary area passed into a small gated community filled with blue houses. "You're destination is on the right." The GPS said right before Zarina cut it off. I parked in the back of the club taking in the bright neon lights. There was a sign with a snake hissing, showing his fangs and honestly it sent a chill down my spine. I couldn't deny that something about the name kept bothering me but I just brushed it off and entered the club. Inside it was spacious, there was a wide dance floor with the DJ's booth in front and a bar stocked full of liquor and drink on the side. On the other side of the bar were chairs and couches filled around tables. When I walked in farther I noticed a staircase leading to the balcony railing that wrapped around the entire club and my eyes were taking in all the gorgeous lights. Even though the club was huge it was still hard to squeeze through all the bodies on the lit up dance floor. Many girls were bent over with guys holding them by their waists rocking their hips into the girl's ass. Many others were pressed up against each other slowly gyrating. I couldn't identify the song being played but it was catchy and definitely something I could dance to. "Let's not waste time looking for the guys they'll find us," Zarina said and pulled me farther into the dance floor. She wasted no time dancing, rocking her hips to the music. I just stood there staring at her, feeling awkward because this isn't something that I was use to or ever wanted to be use to. "Come on don't be a stick." She placed her hands on my hips and started rocking me along with her. At first it felt weird but I decided to try and let go, letting my body copy her movements. I was excited, way too excited to care about the pair of hands that gripped my waist from behind. "I'm glad to see you having fun," a voice whispered. I recognized the voice as Greg, who started dancing along with me. All three of use were caught up in the moment, dancing along to the music and occasionally bumping into other people on the dance floor. Luckily nobody was upset we were just carefree. "Fancy seeing you guys here especially you Reiya." Someone shouted over the music catching Zarina's attention. We both looked up and saw Derek holding a glass in his hand with a huge smile on his face. "What's with the crazy club?" Zarina shouted, still swaying against the man behind her. "I wanted to start the year with something different you know. Real college party experience. I want to get new s**t done and I plan to do as much as possible," he took a sip after he said that, staring right after. His brown eyes didn't break contact not even after someone called him and tried to pull him away. "You guys enjoy. I hope you enjoy and Reiya I hope I can get a dance before the night is over." He left following the girl that wouldn't stop tugging on his arm "What was that about," Zarina laughed before turning around to face guy behind her. "I don't know but I am wondering how the f**k you're able to pick up guys wearing a f*****g oversized hoodie!" Greg shouted causing all of us to start laughing. Honestly I wondered the same thing, I tried my hardest to make sure nothing was revealed and I didn't even want to be picked up by anyone. "She's just going to reject them all. We both know that she's into 'bad boys' . That classic nerd cliche," Zarina said as she dipped down and ran her hands down the strangers chest. "Seriously Rei, you're not going to find an Edward Cullen type of guy who's suddenly going to open up to you after spending years of being mysterious." Greg and Zarina were both laughing at me now that my face was full of blush. I didn't even bother to respond instead I turned on my heels and walked away flipping them the bird as I made my way over to the bar. "Can I get a cranberry juice with sprite," I sighed to the bartender who nodded in response. A few seconds later he slid my drink in front of me and went about his business. Now that my mood was spoiled I really had to wonder if something was wrong with me. Was I really that obsessed with bad boys that I wanted some mysterious guy to simply open up to me. "I'm kidding myself right," I chuckle dryly into my drink. I was writing so much stories about what I wanted to happen that I was probably missing every shot at a chance at having a relationship but not anymore. I smirked to myself hoping to be confident. From now on I'm going to tackle any problem in front of me and I'm determined to get a boyfriend before the school year is done. Smiling to myself, I turned around and collided face first into something hard. My drink splattered over my hoodie and slipped out of my hand, shattering as it hit the floor. "Are you f*****g serious?! This was my favorite sweater, you're going to buy me a new one! You piece of-" I looked at whatever or whoever I collided and my voice was suddenly lost along with the confidence I had to yell. He stood there eyeing me with nothing but malice in his green eyes. His eyes was like a predator hunting its prey and I was scared that I was going to be killed. "Watch it," he said, and shoved me back into the bar. My back hit a stool hard and I could feel the pain throbbing in my back. I bit my lip to hold back a scream and stood up. He walked away from me towards and I started to follow him ignoring the hairs that were sticking up on my arm telling me not to. I wanted to grab him by his hoodie and give him an earful, but he started walking faster. He stopped at a door protected by two guards, who opened it up for him but closed it in my face. The door had a restricted access sign on it and neither guard was trying to let me in. "Password?" With that I left it alone. It upset me that I knew who had pushed me. I noticed that green eyed cold stare coupled with that devishly handsome face, and all I could think about was slapping him. I made my way back to Zarina and Greg who were still dancing where I left them but this time Gavin was there. "What happened to you," Zarina asked and stopped dancing the moment she saw me. Greg put his hand on my back and I immediately flinched and recoiled from his touch. "Dameon f*****g Halloway happened. I bumped into him with a drink and he pushed me in response. I'm done for the night," I said turning away from them. The pain in my back wouldn't stop throbbing and I just needed to get into a bed as quick as possible after that encounter I was feeling drained. "I'll go with you. We can stop by my house and pick up some clothes then heard over to yours and have a sleep over? I'll even pick the movie, sounds good?" Zarina pulled herself away from Gavin and placed her hand on my shoulder. It was already 11pm and I just really wanted to leave so I just nodded my head in response. I don't know if she felt responsible which she shouldn't have but I could tell she did feel bad. Whenever something happened to me Zarina was the first to check up on me no matter what the situation. Nonetheless I was happy to go home and watch a movie. When we made it outside I noticed that the sign had changed, this time it was the viper with a human wrapped around it's grip. An ominous feeling washed over me when we left the Viper's Den.
