Vincent slammed the door as he went out of the residence and went outside. He shifted into Storm and took off on a dead run for the woods, his howl was heard for miles.
Rosie ran behind him and shifted into Rain following behind him. Rosie had been unsure if she should follow him or not he was so angry but Rain whimpered hearing storm's howls. Rain felt the pain coming from Storm, she was in as much pain as he was.
Rain slowly crept up to Storm and laid down next to him. He looked deep into her eyes and after some time had passed he slowly took a few steps towards her and also laid down, resting his head on her side. They didn't say anything and didn't move for several hours, they knew their humans were messing with fire, they had tried to stop them but neither had listened and look where that left them. They each lost their mate, through no fault of their own. Storm had always been a very strong Alpha Wolf but tonight under the full moon, tears were falling from his eyes, something that had never happened before.
That night passed with the two sleeping under the stars, neither had the energy to head back, and they didn't care to shift back either. They were so angry with their human forms that they had not allowed communication from them. Waking up and feeling an empty place in their hearts they licked each other's faces, staring at each other, they finally started back for the pack-house at a slow pace. When they were close, they finally opened up communication with their human forms.
"Why are you shutting me out?" Vincent asked Storm angrily.
"Asshole." is the only thing Storm responded and allowed him to shift back.
"I'm sorry," Rosie said to Rain.
"I know," she responded and allowed her to shift back.
Vincent handed Rosie a shirt and she quickly pulled it on as he pulled on shorts.
"I need to take off, are you going to be ok?" he finally asked Rosie.
"Are we?" she asked him looking to where he was standing.
"I told you we should wait." his voice sounded angry.
"Maybe you did the first time, but you didn't seem to mind after that," she said back in anger.
"This never would have happened if we waited," he grumbled staring at the ground.
"Or if we listened when Victor told us he knew and to just stop." she retorted.
"I had my wall up, I didn't think he really knew."
"Well, he did," she said staring at him. "Why didn't you claim me?" she suddenly asked staring at him.
"Well, I, I," he just stopped talking.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, Rosie spoke. "You wanted to mark her first." she suddenly said, realization clear on her face. Her eyes wide and her jaw hanging open. "You wanted the sweet, pure, virginal twin," she yelled angrily.
He looked at her, turned and went to the packhouse, not stopping until he reached his office. He slammed the door shut behind him, he was angry.
Chance had just returned with Katie and Chase from visiting another pack. He got up and went to find out why his son's office door had just slammed shut.
"Care to explain the attitude?" Chance asked staring at Vincent.
"NOT NOW!" he yelled in frustration.
Chance growled, "NOW!" he ordered using his Alpha tone.
Vincent was so upset he just glared at his father. They were like this for several minutes before he finally had to submit and answer.
"I screwed up," he said in a broken tone.
"It can't be that bad," Chance said with a smile, kids were always so worried about minor things.
"I, I," he started and cut off.
"What did you do?" he finally asked with the silence around them.
"I lost my mate," he whispered out, staring at the floor.
"I'm sure your wrong, those girls love you," he said with a smile on his face.
Vincent shook his head, still staring down. "Victor marked Anna," he said is so quietly no one else would have heard him, but Chance did. When he finally looked up, Chance was gone and the door was open.
Chance stormed up the stairs, so fast, only a blur would have been seen.
"VICTOR," he yelled.
Victor came out of Kylie's room and looked at his father.
"YOU MARKED ANNA WITHOUT VINCENT?" He yelled in anger.
Hearing the yelling, Lucas and Alex came into the room unnoticed.
"Yes I did," he said staring his father down.
"EXPLAIN!" Chance said in his Alpha tone.
"They were hurting her, they broke the bond," he said not backing down. "I claimed her and stopped the pain."
Anna heard his words and was confused. She slowly came out behind Victor, he didn't know she had followed him.
Chance realized what he was saying, remembering Vincent's words, and looked over his son's shoulder to a very confused Anna.
"Broke the bond?" she repeated and Victor spun around and quickly took her into his arms.
"It doesn't matter," he said holding her in his arms.
"With who?" Alex asked sounding angry, Lucas looked just as mad.
Victor ignored everyone and quickly took Anna into his arms and brought her back into the room and slammed the door behind him with his foot. She wasn't supposed to hear his words.
Anna placed her hand on his chest, trying to calm his racing heartbeat. She stared deep into his eyes. "A few days ago, I was in so much pain," she said thinking her words over.
"Please don't worry about this," he said panic in his eyes.
"I was in pain a lot, the weeks before that," she said still watching his face.
He swallowed, holding her.
"Then it all stopped and I felt an empty, hollowness inside part of me. Then you marked me and I felt complete," she said.
"We are complete," he said kissing her.
"Vincent broke our bond," she said suddenly.
Victor just watched her for her reaction.
She leaned over and kissed him, "Thank you for taking care of me, you were there for me every time. You must have been in pain too, but you never showed it." she hugged him, "I love you."
He finally released the breath he was holding. "I love you more, I always have."
Alex and Lucas started to follow Victor until Chance stopped them both. He had to order them to stop.
"WHO DID VINCENT BREAK THE BOND WITH?" Alex yelled at Chance, he was about to wolf out.
"Rosie," Chance answered, staring back into Alex's eyes.
"How?" Alex said then, his wolf backing off. "They had s*x and she isn't marked? But how is the bond broken, they are all mates."
Chance stared at his Beta and waited for the reality to hit him.
"f**k," Lucas said, he had figured it out.
Alex looked at Chance then Lucas, thinking about it, "Fuck."
"We can't fix this." Chance said to the two and went to the couch and dropped onto it.
Alex and Lucas slowly followed him and also sat down. They all seemed to be moving in slow motion. "What does this mean for the pack?" Alex finally asked. Silence followed.
