Chapter Five The sky was a muddy gray, the morning fog having just lifted. I was disappointed that this day, of all days, didn’t appear more friendly. After all, I was taking an enormous leap in my life, and I would have liked it to greet me with a few encouraging signs. The weather was not one. A sign I did pay attention to was the lightness of my step, product of my breezy mood. I awakened happy and relieved that this day I’d be signing the papers to begin my s****l life.
