Swallowing hard, I prepare to tell them about Jaxon. Sage shakes her head with disappointment as she rises from her chair and mutters. “Seriously, Maleah, why can’t you just let us do this for you?”
Sophia rises with Sage and places her hand on her shoulder. “Come on, Sage. We promised we’d give her a break. You know how it is when you love someone.”
Standing to face them, I cross my arms in front of my chest and give them both a heated glare. “What the hell, guys? Have you both been talking about me behind my back? I’m fine.”
They both shake their heads miserably as they gaze into my eyes. Sage’s eyes water with remorse. “It’s just…I know it’s my fault. You and Hunter would be together if it weren't for me. And now you’re miserable and alone, and I just want to make things better.”
