As I was driving to work, I wondered to myself if what Davis had said were true or they were just the regular talks to upset me.
Davis's remarks about Karl's ex-wife coming back upset me since it implied that my stay in his house would be short - lived. I knew it was a temporary contract but this meant I had to leave earlier than anticipated. "Was Claire truly coming back?" I wondered.
I shook my head, not wanting to think that Karl would allow her return after hurting him so much when she asked for a divorce. He had said he did not want to have anything to do with her after what she did. " But what if, for the sake of his son, he changed his mind?" I pondered.
