Their Preparation

While listening to their parents’ meeting, they were surprised when they were joined by Lysandra and Fiero.

“What the hell are you doing here? When did you arrive?” Zander asked.

“Surprise,” Fiero said nonchalantly as he peeks through the hole of the vent.

“We were worried about grandma, so we came here. Our parents said, they will come after some things they are taking care of in Russia.” Lysandra explained.

“So what are they talking about now?” Fiero asked.

“Time travel,”Shanaia said in a hushed voice.

“What? It’s real?” Fiero asked.

“It should be since we are real,” Shanaia said.

“This is some serious s**t,” Zander said.

“Not to be the bearer of anxiety but we’ll be in a more serious s**t if they find out we are eavesdropping,” Seb told them as he noticed his Aunt Zab looking around.

“Then let’s discuss this somewhere else,” Fiero told them.

“Come on.”Crane said, and then he teleported everyone into their common room.

When they got into the common room, they talked about what is happening to their grandmother, about the black witch, and about the idea of time traveling. To know more about the situation, they decided to go to the castle’s library. They split up to scour the old library for any information; divide and conquer.

After all the research they did and all the discussions, they all decided to be the ones to go back in time. So they all marched towards the Queen’s office where their parents are having a meeting with the elders.

“Everyone, we have decided to do the mission,” Lysandra told them and their parents all looked at her confused.

“And what mission is that?”The twins asked in unison.

“Dad, please. We know what is happening about grandma, the black witch, and the time travel thing.”Fiero said.

“How many times do I have to tell you not to eavesdrop?” Zab sighed and rubbed her forehead

“We just happened to hear things,” Zander told his mother innocently, making Zab groan.

“So we volunteer to do it,” Crane said, grinning.

Zab and her siblings looked at their children like they grew another head.

“Kids, you do realize that this mission is very dangerous,” Amara said, looking at them one by one.

“Lady Amara, even if we stay here it’s still dangerous. Everywhere is dangerous.”Seb told her.

“Kids now is not the time for –“

“Then when? When are we going to take a stand, mom? We are your children, aren’t we worthy of such a mission that can affect us too?”

Zari said, cutting odd her mother. Zab stared at her daughter after hearing her.

“And besides, Zari will inherit the throne someday. She is, no, we are just protecting and fighting for this kingdom; for this family.”Lysandra told them.

After so much convincing from Zari and the other’s side, their parents did the deliberation and discussions. Soon their parents agreed to let them take on the mission. Even Philip couldn’t change his mate’s decision

When the parents agreed, the elders had no choice but to agree as well. According to Lady Amara, they are all ready to take on the mission and just promised to aid them with everything that they need.

The next day, Amara called in Zari and her cousins in her office. She began orienting them about the time travel and what they should expect to see in the past.

Lady Amara also gives them the roles that they have to play in order to get close to the Queen and Alpha of that time. She also warned them of the dangers that they could encounter once they are in the past; telling them how different the species are compared to the present one. In the past, lycans rely on their killer instincts making them more dangerous, while vampires are more bloodthirsty as they rely purely on human blood.

“Remember, you have to earn your great grandparents’ trust. Get to know them and you need to be next to them all the time so you can watch out for Rowena. Make them like you, and be their favorite.” Lady Amara told them.

“That’s easy. We’re lovable.”Crane said, smirking and making his sister roll her eyes.

“And most of all make sure that Queen Camilla and Alpha King Lucian will meet in the underground garden, by hook or by crook.”

“Underground what?”Seb asked.

“What’s in that underground garden?”Crane asked.

“The question should be where that underground garden is located,” Amara told them.

Then she heaved a deep sigh.

“The underground garden is the place where the Queen’s parents met for the first time. Unfortunately, no one knows where it is located. The Queen, your grandmother has been trying to find that place since she came back here in Stone Castle.” Lady Amara told them.

“If grandma hasn’t found it in decades, what made you think that we’ll be able to find it?” Zander asked and Lady Amara smiled at him.

“You’re going to the past. The people there know its location.”

After Lady Amara told them about the underground garden, she told them some background regarding the vampires that live in the castle as well as a bit of insight regarding the Lycans. Soon they were joined by Elder Henry, and they finally find out that the two elders are beloveds.

The next day, after breakfast Zari and the others, were called to Lucas’ workshop for the weapons and stuff they are taking to their mission. And after that, they were subjected to vigorous training with the Elites.

Zab and the others’ training lasted until the next day. It was an intense training but they had to push themselves. Zab who joined the training also pushed them to learn and control all their gifts properly. Creon and Alex came and also joined the training of their children.

After all the training, Zander and Seb went out to go to the supermarket. They are buying stuff that they will need in their mission; like flashlights, bottled water, candies, chocolates, canned goods and chips, and of course toiletries.

“Hey, did you ever wonder about their toilets?” Seb asked.

Zander who was choosing between two brands of shampoo whipped his head towards his cousin.

“Really Seb? You really have to ask me that now?” Zander asked him.

“I’m just curious. Do you think they just dig up a hole and cover it up after?” Seb asked again and Zander looked at him with a bewildered expression.

“My god, Seb. They are lycans, not cats.” Zander said and then Seb thought about something.

“Then should I ask mom if they do that?”

Zander gawked at his cousin.

“That’s it. I’m leaving you.” Zander said and then he put both chips in his hands into the cart and pushed it as he walked away from Seb.

“Hey! Do you think mom can answer me?” Seb asked again as he chased after Zander.

When they went back to the castle, they joined their cousins as they pack their stuff for their mission. Everyone brought their essentials and they all stuffed them inside their enchanted satchel that can store everything.

They split the stuff they bought from the supermarket as the girls brought more than necessary. And when they are done, they all looked excited and nervous at the same time.

“Now we are ready to jump through time,” Zander said.
