I’m sitting on Summer and Stephen’s couch while Summer sits on her coffee table crossed leg like she is going to meditate. Their home is a three bedroom, one story penthouse at the top of the pack house. They have an open floor concept so if you stand at the front door you can see all the way back to the kitchen. From the front door there is the living room with the couch looking right at you. It’s easy to spot all of the people who were trained under my father and live by the code of never sit with your back to the door. Behind the couch is one of those linear electric fireplaces that is mounted on a low dividing wall so that it doesn’t obstruct the view.
