I could not help the shiver that ran through me as we walked into the basement. The memory of being locked in a cell, starving, with only Mathew to feed on as I desperately tried to control myself started to flash before my eyes. The agony, the loneliness, the rejection came flooding back making me think that I had swallowed a ton of razor blades and they were slicing away at my insides.   Lazarus looped his arm around me and held me close to him, placing a tender kiss on my forehead as I felt Kadzait and Caleb also walk closer to me.
