Chapter thirty three - Trying to rally the troops

3061 Words

Mirovi went a shade of red while everyone else was silently staring. Petal did not say anything else, allowing us all to digest this new piece of information. Strangely, it put my earlier encounter with her and Asloxorth in to prospective. Why they had been so familiar with each other, why Petal had spoken to him with such hate. It wasn't Clarisa who had been taken over by the evil, but her mate, and she had been forced to lock him away from herself and the world, until I was stupid enough to let him free.  Guilt washed over me. How could I have been so stupid? Why would someone follow a spooky voice that only they could hear and then set free the creature they had found? Hell, if it wasn’t for my mates, I wouldn’t have even thought twice about it and woken him without consulting anyone.
