Chapter 5: Pertaining to Last Night
I came to inside an unfamiliar bedroom decorated in different shades of green. Vanilla-colored tile covered the floor. A single window overlooked the Gulf. A doorway opened up to a balcony and a bright, new day. Warm wind floated into the bedroom and caressed my naked shoulders and cheeks. My shorts, shirt, and sandals were missing. I felt hungry as my stomach rumbled. The room smelled like lilacs although there wasn’t a vase of them to be seen; their scent was strong and almost overwhelming.
