"Scott, let me go!" Brooklyn fought to get me off of her but I refused to let her go while she was still angry and hurt and in the mood to break down at any given time. I put my chin on her shoulder and mumbled. "I will never let go." She slowed down her hitting and scratching and soon enough it stopped all together. Brooklyn's shoulders started to shake as I heard cries begin escaping her. I loosened my hold on her so I could turn her around and hold her that way but she shocked me and did it herself. "Please promise me you won't hurt me the way he did?" "I haven't yet have I?" I asked her. "No, but, it took Ryan 3 years before he did." I held her a little tighter as she cried. And as much as it bothered me, I knew she wasn't just crying over the loss of her child. "Are you hungry?"
