Zofia caught Tillie by the arm and whispered. “Did you know that Lolly was on the committee?” “No.” Tillie stared across the room. “So what? You're not the one who calls the police every other day.” “True.” “Then, come on.” Tillie yanked her forward. They strode across the bare wood floor, their heels clip-clopping along. Together they sounded like a Clydesdale stomping around in a barn. Debi Flitch, seated to the right of Lolly, smiled. “Good morning!” she said, her bright smile transformed the woman's face. “Are you two here to ** for Gladstone Days Festival?” “Yep,” Tillie said. Zofia did her level best not to let her eyes drift over to Lolly. The last thing she wanted was to encourage any sort of conversation with the woman.
