By the next day, Kayla had showered, which she’s sure ate at him but it bothered her more that he did not claim her. It bothered her a lot, actually, despite how he tried to explain why and how patient she was being within her Heat, which she shouldn’t have been… but it was time to get back to work immediately since there was no going back in time to set things right. She called her sisters and let them know she was fine, and that there was a lot to get back to before settling on answering voicemails.
One in particular had been from the one and only Gemma Phaux. The Gemma Phaux, which meant that Kayla only had a small window of time to reply. She took down the message, scribbling it on a piece of paper as she went as if the voicemail would self-destruct.
