10 Marina swung her Mini-Cooper into the dirt parking lot by the amphitheater and turned to Kai. “Looks like a lot of the cast and stagehands responded to Axe’s all-call for help today.” “That’s a relief,” Kai said. “Opening night will come sooner than we all imagine.” The scrappy little car bounced over ruts in the dirt, yet Marina steered through them. “I thought Axe would have the parking lot paved by the time the show opens.” “He’s trying to get that done,” Kai said, frowning. “He traded favors with another contractor, and that guy has been busy with paying jobs.
