“Deck the halls with boughs of holly…” Kai’s voice greeted Marina as she walked into the Coral Cottage. On the door was taped a piece of paper in Kai’s handwriting that read, Costume Fittings Here. Come In!
“Hi, everyone,” Marina said as she shrugged out of her navy blue anorak and hung it on a coat stand by the door. She had worn a lightweight, navy-and-white striped sweater under her chef’s jacket for the lunch run. Here at the cottage, the sun was bright, a chill was in the air, and the holidays were in full swing as preparations for opening night continued.
“How was lunch at the cafe?” Kai asked.
“Fairly steady. Heather did a great job filling in for you, but customers missed you.”
“They’re going to love the show, though,” Kai said. “Where are my actors?” she called out.
