Cain Pov I stood silently, my eyes closed as I heard everyone around me. I could hear the steps of all six of them, surrounding me. It made me remember Zain, all the numerous times he’d smack me on the back of the head with the flat side of his sword until I was perfectly silent, no matter what surface I was stepping on, no matter what type of shoes I was wearing, or even if I was barefoot. The countless lessons were painful but necessary, and now I can fully see why. To be surrounded by warriors who were only half-trained, not fully there yet, was slightly sad.
