Deadmau5 ft. Mc Flipside- Hi Friend (Original Mix) It had been a week. I no longer require painkillers to live pain-free and Colton had chosen what he wants from his house. Dad is having a yard sale starting Friday to get rid of everything else. That house and whatever the hell is in there is going to be put on the market. May the odds be ever in the favor of the fam that buys that place.  "Yo, you gonna help?" Colton asked tossing the bag with everything I had ever left at his house in it on my bed. I thought the bag would be bigger.  "With?" I asked pretending to revise my essay.  "What's with you? You didn't want to help me go through stuff and now you don't want to come to the yard sale," I sighed shutting my laptop.  "Don't laugh ok?" he shrugged sitting on my bed as I turned to face him. "What?" "The other day when I went to get your stuff when I was leaving, there was this thing," fear crept up again and hot tears filled my eyes. He came over to me placing his hand on my shoulder.  "Like when we snuck into the burned down house?" I sat back looking up at him. How did I not remember that? I had been scared senseless. I guess I just didn't want to think of either situation because it was an ugly feeling. "Yeah, like that. It happened again when I went to get the mail. There was this weird shadow. Whatever it was, I was frozen in place. Rite and his mom scared the hell out of me. I screamed like a f*****g girly girl," he took a deep breath and nodded.  "Alright then, I won't make you go back there," I took a deep breath and slowly let it out not wanting to remember that feeling anymore.  "Thanks,"  He pulled out a jewelry box from inside the bag and placed it on my desk. I smiled looking up at him. It belonged to his dad. I used to love stealing his watches and necklaces when I was a little girl and pretend to be James. I even have a fake James voice to go with the look. I didn't want to ask in case he wanted to keep it. He didn't say anything when he walked out leaving me to my thoughts.  The silver box is old. It looks like something that was passed from generation to generation. The blue gems decorating it look like real topaz. It's heavy when it's lifted. Inside is a pair of watches, his wedding band, and James' signature golden necklace. I pulled it out and looped the ring around the chain and put it around my neck.  James had been my second father and while my pain will never compare to Colton's I still feel it and it's killing me to know he's not here anymore. To know that he'd never see Colt graduate. He'll never get to know the illegitimate grandkids Colt is going to have before he settles down with a tough chick who is going to lock that pretty boy down. He's never going to walk me down the aisle with my dad. My dad doesn't get to grow old with his best friend who might as well have been his gay lover.  "He gave them to you," I turned around to see my dad in the doorway. He stormed in when he saw the tears streak down my face. "He'd love that Colt gave these to you. You started stealing them when you were three years old,"  "I know," I laughed.  "I've been so caught up with Colt that I never bothered to ask if you were okay," he said kneeling in front of me.  "It's okay. I didn't need it as much as he did," he nodded.  "I'm not good at this, Baby. James was basically my wife in all this," I laughed.  "That is so true. You were always the butch," he laughed shaking his head.  "f**k, I miss him so much," he said getting up going to sit on the bed where Colton was sitting. "Seeing all their stuff on the lawn like that makes is official you know. He's really not coming back. I feel like Colton and I have been sitting around waiting for him to walk through those doors and tell us to get our s**t together,"  Hearing my dad say that hurts me more. Colt had said something similar to that when I finally got him to start eating. He said that he wanted to starve because it meant that any moment his dad would walk in and tell him to stop acting like a teenage drama queen and eat. James always knew what to say to make us feel better. We relied on him for that.  "I think I got over that when they lowered his casket. It was just as hard when mom died," he nodded. "You should go help him or he'll sale the couches for twenty-two dollars and a bag of Ranch Doritos,"  Yeah," he laughed. "James would have done that s**t too,"  The entire weekend was dedicated to the yard sale. Whatever wasn't sold they donated to Goodwill. Colt made over fifteen thousand dollars. I don't think he expected that because he was a bit dumbstruck when my dad put it in his savings account so when we go to Long Beach. Colt doesn't know what he wants to do with his dad's car yet so it's sitting in our garage. He's gotten a few offers. Afterall, how often do you see someone in Dean Winchester's baby? I got up a little earlier than I usually did. Some of the bruises on my face look like a newly decaying zombie yellow and I hate it. So until they go away, I have to wear makeup. Which I don't mind. Once the setting spray dried and I did my hair. I rushed down the stairs to see my dad drinking coffee. "Good call," he said pointing at my face.  "The words every daughter wants to hear from her oh so loving father," I said taking a mug from the cabinet. He laughed.  "I meant it in the best way, Baby. The last of the bruising is always the worst when they're fading," I nodded pouring coffee into the mug before taking a sip.  "A little strong don't you think?" I asked scooping a couple of teaspoons into the bitterness before going for the creamer. I usually take it black with no sugar but this is 'we're not taking a nap at all today' coffee.  "Sorry, I might have put a little extra in there," he smirked.  "Morning," Colton grunted walking past me. "Are you going to school or a cover girl photo shoot?"  "See, Colton knows how not to say that without insulting me," my dad rolled his eyes, Colton smirked.  "I don't feel like being sassed right now," he said pouring himself a cup of coffee. "Ugh, we are not going to be taking a nap today,"  "It's not that strong," my dad said. Colton looked over at me and we both laughed.  "Whatever you say, Neil," he yawned.  "Are you two driving together or separately?" my dad asked.  "Separately. Rite and I are picking some things up from Jack's,"  "The new gear is in?"  "Yes, sir. You cool with that shorty?"  "I am. I have to go to the music store to pick up my new mixer and my new ears," I answered. "You got new ears? The pink ones?"  "Yes, my matching visor should get here soon," "Did you go pink and black?"  "Nope, pink and white. Which reminds me. Dad..?"  "Pink hair. Really, Baby?" "Yes," he sighed taking his wallet out. He handed me two- one hundred dollar bills.  "What are you going to go as to this dance?"  "Anya Alstreim," I answered.  "What?" they both asked in unison.  "She's an Elite member Knightmare Pilot in the Britannian Empire. She's the Knight of Six and Rolo's personal knight in Code Geass,"  "The weird depressing one?" Colton asked.  "That's the one,"  "Nice. Can I be the blond one?"  "We'd have to go lighter on your hair blondie and his name is Gino Weinberg,"  "Sure," he shrugged. My dad looked between us and shook his head.  "Pink f*****g hair," he sighed. "This better not be like the time you were the blue haired girl in the slutty blue schoolgirl outfit,"  "Dad," I said shaking my head. Colton almost spit his coffee out. "It wasn't a schoolgirl. I was Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon,"  "I don't care. Never again," he said pointing at me.  "It's not a slutty schoolgirl outfit," he nodded.  "Good. I want to see it long before the night of," he said getting up.  "Thanks, dad,"  "I mean it, Baby," he shouted from the doorway. Colton and I laughed.  "He just doesn't get Cosplay,"  I arrived at school to find that my locker had been painted over. I smoothed my hand over to feel that the writing was completely gone. I opened it to find it empty just as I had left it. I got a few lingering stares until Jamal and a couple of his friends came over to me. "You're back," he beamed.  "Yeah," I smiled putting my textbooks inside the locker since I no longer need them. "This is Lance, Mario, and Decarious," he said introducing the boys with him.  "Decarious," I repeated with a smile. "That's a cool name,"  "Not like Baby," the boy who Jamal had pointed out as Decarious laughed. "Everyone calls me Dec,"  "Cool, everyone calls me Colin. I'm Baby Colin by the way,"  "We know," Lance smiled. "You're kinda famous. Even without the punching of the racists,"  "Yeah, your music is sick," Mario nodded.  "Thanks, guys. You just made my day," they all laughed.  They walked me to my first class. The first person I spotted was the girl from the day I was suspended. I don't remember her name. I walked over to Mrs. Landberg and handed her the homework and class work she had sent home with Colton for me to do. She gave me a tight smile without saying anything. I took the only remaining seat which is next to the girl I'm not supposed to be talking to.  "Hey Baby. You're back," she beamed looking over at me.  "Hey, yeah. They let me come back," I chuckled.  "Your face looks so much better,"  "Makeup," I shrugged.  "Nice, it looks good," she said sitting up straight before turning her attention to the front of the class. Mrs. Landberg began the lecture and gave us all an assignment.  "Baby, if you need me to slow down or need help let me know," everyone turned back to look at me.  "I'm fine. Thank you," I said wishing I could just fade away. She nodded before going back to her desk.  "Do you understand this? I hate math," the girl said leaning closer to me.  I nodded looking over at her paper on the top right-hand corner reads, Clarity Corvinus. I should remember that. Her name sounds like something out of a vampire book. I quietly explained what she was doing wrong and how to correct her work. She thanked me and went back to work. The guy in front of me turned around and asked for my help then the girl to the right side of me. No one had ever asked me before.  Once class was over, people actually said they'd see me later or in another class. I didn't really know how to respond so I just smiled and waved without saying a word. I put my things away and headed for the door.  "Good job on these, Baby," Mrs. Landberg said without looking up at me. "Thank you for helping out,"  "Thank you," I answered walking out like an i***t. The rest of the day went pretty much like that. People I had known basically my entire life but had never spoken to were greeting me like old friends. Even Colton asked me what the hell was going on. I honestly have no clue and I am way too awkward to ask. I felt kind of socially exhausted when the day came to an end. Is that a thing? Social exhaustion?  I had booked my appointment at the salon at five today so I had time to pick up my things and change into something comfortable at home. Sarah, the woman who always does my hair always books my appointments no matter what. I was almost free when Clary came over to me skipping. Who is this happy all day? I swear the only class I don't have her fifth period because I'm an aid in the Library but she's always this chipper and excited.  "You doing anything tonight, Colin?" she asked.  "Yeah, I'm getting my hair done," I answered putting my binder in my book bag before I shut the locker door. "Nice, what are you doing to it?"  "Umm, I'm going to bleach it out a little more and dye it a soft pink color," her mouth fell open forming an "o" shape. I laughed.  "That is going to look super cute. Why are you doing it like that?"  "I'm going to Cosplay Anya Alstriem,"  "From Code Geass? I love her she's all mellow and stuff but kicks a lot of ass," I nodded.  "Yeah, what are you doing?" I asked out of courtesy.  "Nothing just going home," she shrugged. I know I shouldn't but I did anyway.  "I have to pick up some things from the music store before I go to the salon. You want to come with?" her eyes lit up.  "Are you sure? Aren't you going with your super hot brother?" I laughed.  "No, he has practice today," she nodded.  "Sweet. I'm so down to go. Let me tell my sister yeah?" I nodded.  "I'll meet you outside. I'm at the black beetle convertible,"  "Cool," she nodded before skipping away.  When my dad finds out I'm hanging around this girl, he's going to be pissed. I had read the report online and had decided that it might not have even been her. There were four other girls including her sister that were involved. Clary wasn't even the girl who threatened the two girls, it was a girl named Maggie. I'm not defending Clary. Nor am I pointing my finger at her.  Something horrible happened to those girls and Clary might have witnessed it which in itself is horrible. I really hope she didn't help those girls lock the two other girls in that house and set it on fire because that is a terrible thing to do. I don't want to just flat out say 'hey I can't hang out with you cause my dad thinks your a murderer'. Chances are Clary wasn't even there, right?
