Lucia's huddled in terror, her body shaking from fear. She plastered herself against the narrow corner, trying to make herself invisible. There had been no time for Lestor to get her into safety. The truth is they had barely made it down from the wall before the massive gates shook, cracks appearing in solid oak beams. And then it appears. A Chimera. A rare, massive, misshapen animal, it was not known if it was some mutated wolf, or something much worse, demon-bred perhaps, but it was unstoppable in its brute power.
