19. Runaway

Alden sits with me straddling his lap. I snuggle and try to wake up a bit.
Tre smiles at me. "Someone is still sleepy."
"Yea she is."
"We need 1 of these games. They are so fun."
"I sent a servant out to check on the prices of a new 1. She should know after dinner."
"Thank you."
"My pleasure."
Alden kisses my head after he walks off. "Everyone loves your game baby."
"Daddy got it for me, so I could practice. Nobody ever played with me though. I only ever played it by myself. I never got to try the war part." I shrug my shoulders, "But I loved it anyway. It's fun to fight golems and wolves and anything really."
"Yea, there was a lot to it. Nobody played with you?"
"No. I loved that game."
"It is fun." He rubs my back and hugs me.
I move over to my seat as the food gets delivered. Halfway through dinner, Nadine stabs Tye and has a breakdown. Marcus yells about not stabbing Tye. Then a servant comes in carrying a big bag. She sits it down by Alden. "They want 125k sir." Clark roams out with her and Dipak.
I end up falling asleep again. I wake up when Alden is making me sit up. Dipak, Marcus, and Mason are shaking hands with Alden and Clark. They thank them for allowing the visit. I guess they're leaving. I stretch and must fall back asleep. I wake up about 2am with Alden in bed.
I smile at his sleeping face. He really is sexy. "I wish I could be enough for you, sir. I'm sorry I'm a child. I'm sorry, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm sorry I'll never be her."
I sneak out of the room and throw some pajamas in a bag with some pink underwear. I like those. I grab my momma's necklace, then I sneak down to the shuttle. I take it up to the ship.
"Take me away from this planet."
"To where, ma'am?"
"Somewhere with a beach and no people."
"Yes ma'am." The ship takes off.
I sit in the captain's chair and watch out the windows. The views from space are truly amazing. The stars and planets. The gasses. It's so beautiful. Then the ship jumps into hyperspace.
I go to my room and take a shower. I get dressed in a normal dress and tennis shoes. I put on some pink underwear too. I've never had any other color than white. I like them. I comb my hair and the ship brings me some eggs and peppers. I eat as we come out of hyperspace and travel through a solar system. I watch as so many beautiful sights pass by the windows. Then we stop at a planet. It looks a lot like Terros, but it has 1 sun and like 12 moons. I bet it will be pretty at night. I take a shuttle down and get out on a beach, a brain comes with me. He stays in the shuttle.
I sit on the sand and watch the water. It seems to be about dinner time here. I guess that will be something that's different on every planet.
I don't know how long I sit before the brain comes up to me. "Full analysis done. Water and plant life forms are abundant. Animal life on the land is very underdeveloped. A few insects are here but nothing else on the land."
"Thank you. It's perfect."
"My pleasure. How long will we be staying?"
"Until I'm done."
"Of course, ma'am. How do you feel?"
"I spent my whole life on a planet with so many people. I'm as alone now as I've always been. This feels like home." I hug my knees and stare at the water. It is beautiful here. As the sun goes down, I lay back and watch the moons. I count 18. All different. They're even different colors. My favorite is a dark blue moon. I see a faint outline of a ring around it. It's perfect. A pink moon comes into view and it's huge. "Is that going to hit us?"
"No. It is a very close moon. No danger of colliding with the planet currently."
"Great."
"Why did you leave?"
"Why would I stay? The only family I have will always try to hunt me. No friends. Nobody to talk to. A mate who wanted someone else. I'm a child. I can't even blame him. He's doing everything the way it is. I can get out of his way and he can pick someone he likes. I made him king already. They'll figure out how to get rid of Fane, then he'll have a whole planet. I have my ship. I will stay out of their way. They'll be happy."
"What about your happiness?"
"I am happy. This is beautiful. Nobody is here to hurt me. I don't have to hide. I'm not a burden to anyone here. Nobody is complaining about how much of a child I am. Nobody is asking me to talk about what happened. I can be."
"Long amounts of isolation can hurt a person mentally."
I can't help but laugh at that. "You're telling me. Maybe someday I'll find a place I fit. Make a friend or 2. Maybe even find someone that can love me for who I am. Not what kind of status they can get from me."
"You should think about Alden."
"I don't want to. I need to move on. He'll be fine. He's with an entire planet of people who care about him. You seen when we got back to the castle after Earth. Everyone came to see him. I snuck away and went to bed. And that's just the castle. Not only that, I'll never be what he wants. I'm not old enough. I don't have any experience in anything. He had a girlfriend before me. He didn't even want to come back to me. I wish his friends would have let him stay gone. Instead, they dragged him back."
"What's it like being awake again?"
"Amazing and pure torture. Everything I knew is gone. It's an alien planet to me. I don't know how anything works. Everything I used to do isn't done anymore. It's like swords. I spent 200 years on lessons and everyone carries them because they look neat now. Nobody can use them. It was a pointless waste of 200 years. I can't turn on a television. Learning to drive is hell. Everything right down to camping is totally different. Everyone I loved is gone. They're dead." I sigh. "Every single 1 of them. I'm surrounded by strangers who stare at me but are mostly afraid to talk. They whisper things to their friends." I wipe my eyes. "I miss my parents so much. I never got to say goodbye. I woke up and asked for my daddy. The doctor said they're dead. That's how I found out everyone was dead. Then I have to stare at a man who wanted someone else. That is not a happy life. I wish I had never woken up."
"What does the dragon say?"
"We have each other. We'll figure it out. We'll be ok and find a home."
"Did you have fun with the game yesterday?"
I try to smile. "Yea I did. That was the first time I ever played with other people. It was nice playing with other people who wanted to have fun."
"Why don't you go visit the people on earth for a while? At least you wouldn't be alone."
"I'm sure they would be kind, but I would be a burden to them. They have happy lives. I'm not going to ruin them."
"Well..."
I put my hand up to stop it. "You're worse than a human sometimes. Go over there. I'm going to take a walk."
"Yes, ma'am."
I walk down the beach. It's fairly light here. All the moons keep it bright, even at night. I watch moons and listen to the water. This is perfect.
I wake up in the morning. I slept so well. "AAAHHHH" I open my eyes to the brain standing over me.
"Sorry ma'am. I was watching over you while you slept."
"Next time, do it from over there." I point to the shuttle.
"Of course."
I get up and stretch. Then I brush the sand off, "Let's go up. I want to eat and clean up. I can do some exploring today."
"Yes, ma'am."
I get all cleaned up and sit down for breakfast. "How many chickens do I have?"
"10."
"How many can the coop take?"
"400."
"I should probably stop eating eggs."
"We keep 95% of eggs to hatch. The coop will fill up in a year. Would you like some eggs?"
"Yes please."
"You also need vegetables and grain."
"Do we have a lot of something?"
"Vegetables and grain are not in short supply. Would you like peppers and toast?"
"Yes please. That sounds good."
My food is delivered with milk, oranges, and blood. "How are we on blood? When will we run out?"
"75,000 years. The blood was not contaminated."
"At least that's good."
"Within 4 years the ship will become self-sustaining for an indefinite length of time."
"That's more good news. Today is going to be a good day."
