4. Help

I wake up in my bed halfway through the next morning. Someone is banging on the door. I go out in the hallway and nobody is there.
I open the front door, so they stop banging, and 2 girls are standing there.
"Hi, I'm Sara, this is Silvia. We're here to help you."
"With what?"
"Fashion." Sara smiles.
The other 1 holds up a bag. "Make up."
I scratch my head. "Does Alden know you're here?"
They say, "No." at the same time.
I smile big. "Summon Kina."
"Yes ma'am."
We sit around the dining room table.
An hour later, we finally understand how showers are supposed to work and how to clean and shave everything. These girls are angels for helping us with this. They even stood outside the bathroom and kept sending Kina in to help me get through the shower. Then they did my hair and make-up.
2 hours later, they ordered about 50k worth of clothes off the box they keep putting in front of me. But fashion is so different now.
Then Alden comes for lunch, I'm guessing. Kina chases him out with 1 of my swords then sits back down. We crack up laughing at that.
"This is what's best for the throne. He's not getting in the way."
I wipe my eyes and nod.
Then we get into the makeup. I can't keep my hands out of my hair though. It's so fluffy. I don't know if I like it. Silvia puts something in it to make it not fluffy, and then I'm ok.
Then another girl comes in. She's carrying 3 boxes. "Hi, I'm Jenny. I'm bringing lunch. I got some pizza for us."
I've seen her here before. Her and Alden are friends. I can tell by the way they talk to each other. She seems friendly though. We eat lunch and then talk about shoes. An hour later, we switch to pajamas. I am getting a hell of an education today.
"Oh you should get this to sleep in. I bet Alden wouldn't be able to keep his hands off you."
I look at a picture of a barely there red thing and my eyebrows shoot up.
Kina cracks up laughing. "She is so red."
I laugh with them and try to hide my face.
Silvia smiles. "So, I heard a rumor that you're pregnant already. Any truth to that?"
Kina chokes and spits out some soda on herself.
I shake my head so fast. "Not pregnant."
Sara smiles. "I didn't figure. That would be really fast to start a family. But I'm pregnant like 3 times a year in the rumors. It's always easier to go to the person and ask the truth."
I laugh. "I was an alien once in the rumors." They crack up laughing. "I don't remember the rest of that 1, but I remember I was an alien."
Sara shakes her head. "Oh that's the best 1 I've heard in a while."
Silvia nods. "It was only a couple of weeks ago that people were saying Alden has a werewolf girlfriend. Whatever happened to that rumor?"
"That's because he had to go over and fight that battle. Someone always has to start drama." Sara rolls her eyes.
I peek at Jenny, and she won't even glance my way. It's true. He does have a girlfriend. I glance at Kina and she shrugs her shoulders. I feel a bond in my chest break.
Sara stands up. "Well, I think we're good. We did hair, makeup, clothes, and shoes. We'll come back when we think of more stuff. It'll be delivered within the next week or so."
"Thank you both very much. I was so lost. I know this information will help a lot."
"Our pleasure. We'll see you soon." Jenny, Silvia, and Sara leave.
"Does he have someone?"
"I have no idea. I'll check into it. I've never seen him with anyone."
I hold back the tears and stand up. "Thank you for checking. I think I'm done for the day."
"Of course."
Kina leaves as Alden walks in. "What happened?"
"They showed me some outfits and explained the shower. Information like that."
"Why did part of the bond break?"
"You have a girlfriend."
"No I don't."
"A werewolf." I watch him and I can see it in his face. It is true.
"She's not my girlfriend. I just... I mean... It was... And then..."
"Ok." I go to my room and shut the door.
The second it's shut, I lean against it and slide down. I finally let the tears pour out. I am so alone.
I wake up halfway through the morning again and look at myself in the bathroom. My eyes are swelled up and red. If he wants someone else, then why even bother being here?
I take a long shower then mess with the makeup until my eyes are better. Then I do my hair and get dressed. This is a different type of dress. It flows down to past my knees and has short sleeves. It's not formal. Looks more like something a servant would wear. There's not too much fabric. But it works. None of my new stuff is here yet. Kina must have got this for me. I open the door to my bedroom and promptly fall out of it. Alden is sleeping on the floor.
His eyes pop open, and he stares at me for a minute. Then we get up.
"Why are you down there?"
"I'm stupid and I'm sorry. I swear I don't have anyone else."
"The werewolf?"
"It just happened. You weren't awake. I didn't know if you'd really be mine. I was all messed up. I'm sorry."
"What happened?"
"It was just 1 night. I never talked to her after that. I swear to you."
"What happened?"
"We had s*x and spent the night together." I nearly choke. "I swear if I knew you'd be mine, then I wouldn't have touched her."
My lip starts to shake. "You didn't wait?"
"I didn't know I was supposed to."
"Of course." I go for the door. He grabs my arm and I rip it away from him.
I get out and Kina is about to come in. "Doctor's appointment. This way."
I follow her to a little room, then I sit on a table. She walks out without saying anything.
I can't help but think about him with someone else.
"MAYRA."
I look up at the doctor.
"What is going on? I did an entire exam and I don't think you heard 1 word I said."
"Sorry doctor. I have some things on my mind, that is all."
"Like what?"
"My mate wants someone else. Why even bother finding me? Why did he come back? I am better off gone."
"No you aren't. And he doesn't have anyone else."
"Some werewolf."
His eyebrows shoot up. "I'll look into it."
I jump off the table.
"There is a carnival a couple towns over. I think you should go. It's a human place. Nobody will know who you are. Take some guards and check out the carnival."
"I'm not..."
"It's not a request. You need to get out. You're dressed fine for it. Roam around and watch people for a bit. Play a couple of games. Try something new to eat, then come back. You need to see something other than this castle. Pretend to be human. You'll be fine."
"Ok. I guess." I shrug my shoulders. It's not like I actually have a choice.
"Good." He leads me out the door.
Alden, Kina, and Victor are sitting there.
"Alden, I'll talk to you now. Kina and Victor, make sure Mayra gets to the carnival with some guards. She needs to socialize more."
"Yes doctor."
