Dana and Ray arrive at Brock’s football game. They park the car and make their way to the football grounds. “ so have you told him yet” asks Ray “ no I’m just waiting for the right time. I also haven’t figured out what I am going to say to Casey, an what she’ll make of all this” replies Dana “ well take your time” replies Ray before he says “ how are the kids doing” “ just great Brock soaked his team with pool water the other day and I found Roman at the very top of the mango tree at home. Poor Mavis was on a step ladder trying to reach him” says Dana with his hand covering his face. This makes Ray laugh before he goes on to say “ yeah they are anadites alright. But I’m grateful they are growing up like how kids should grow up” “ yes and I intend on keeping it that way. I don’t want anyone knowing about their abilities. The people here might look at them like some kind of freaks or worse weapons of mass destruction. I know the teahcers here think he is some freak of nature” says Dana “ why because he excels at everything he does. They don’t know that we are like that” says Ray “ here come the teams”. Brock comes out in his full tracksuit but he doesn’t participate in the warmup with his teammates. He looks over at his father and grandfather and waves before he takes his seat on the bench. “ looks like he starting on the bench today” says Dana “ yeah I noticed, how do you beg a kid to be on your team and then you don’t play him, isn’t the team they are playing one of the better ones in the country” asks Ray. Dana puts his hands up and says “ look I am just a father here to wacth his kid play. I’m not the coach”. Ray just growls and they wait for the game to begin. After fifteen minutes the teams are on the field. For the first ten minutes the game is tight with both teams looking nervous and weary of each other. The opposing team then begins to play better than Brock’s as they start to create chances and keep the football more. Brock is watching from the bench trying his best to support his teammates. Two minutes before the teams go in for half time a goal is scored. It is the opposing team and Brock’s team is a goal behind. “ see now they are losing, this guy should unleash my grandson on this team” says Ray. After fifteen minutes the teams return to start the second half. The first half is just like the first half with Brock’s team playing on the backfoot. “ start warming up” instrcutcs the coach and Brock gets up. “ well it’s about time” says Ray as he notices that Brock has started warming up. Brock does a few light jogs along the pitcth trying to warm up. Its ten minutes into the second half and the opposing team hit the bar. Brock intensifies his warm up as he does a few short sprints before he returns to the coach. “ you warm” he asks and Brock says “ yes sir” “ okay take off the bib and track pants and get ready, you will be coming on at the next break of play” responds the coach. He then takes his bib off and also takes his track pants off. He then takes his trainers off and puts on his actual soccer boots. He likes the colour of these soccer boots. He is nervous becaucse the boots were recently bought for him by his father and this will be the first time he plays in them. There is a stoppage in play and Brock waits for his teammate to come off. “ you will be on the left wing okay kid, I want you to make their right back and centre halfs run” says the coach. “ about time” says Dana as Brock rushes on the pitch.  “ Brock usually plays in the middle, why is he on the left wing” asks Dana “ maybe he wants to use Brock’s pace” says Ray “ Maybe” replies Dana. Five minutes pass before Brock gets the ball and once he does he just passes it back to his teammate. Brock jogs around for a few moments before he stops again. He watches the game unfold on the other side of the picth. He slowly moves to the center of the picth. The ball is once again passes to Brock who once again returns it back to the sender. He moves from the center back to the left wing.  The ball once again reaches Brock and this time takes a touch. The defender on his wing rushes to him and in a second Brock nut megs him and jogs to the byline he then executes a wonderful pull back for one of his teammates who smashes the ball into the net. The score is now one all with ten minutes remaning. They celebrate for a bit before the captain says “ alright boys lets bring this home.” The goal that was scored seems to have energized the opposing team as they begin to attack Brock’s team. They win a corner and Brock is about to go back and defend the corner when his coach yells “ no Brock stay there” and Brock stands by the halfway line. The corner is taken and it is cleared towards Brock. Brock takes a touch to control the ball and he starts to drive towards the opposion half. The defeneder tries to muscle Brock off the ball but Brock simply knocks it further and demolishes the defender in a footrace leaving him in his wake. He approaches the ball and is faced with the keeper and he calmy slots it into the bottom right corner. “ wow. Just wow” says Ray as there is pandemonium with Brock’s teammates surrounding him and hugging him. The game restarts but the referee blows the whistle after two minutes. “ your son is definitely a talented footballer. He came on and assisted a goal as well as scoring one” says Ray “ yeah I know” replies Dana. The teams shake hands before they head to their respective coaches. Brock sits on the grass along with his team mates and the coach begins to talk “ today we were really slow, I know we came up against a good side but we could have played better in the first half. I deliberately left Brock out for today. I wanted to see where their weakness would be so that Brock could exploit it. Turns out their right back isn’t very fast so I put Brock there, of course I also wanted him to tire out a bit before I brought Brock on. That being said Brock for someone who prefers playing in the middle I think you did well. Not only did Brock do well but we played like ourselves in the second half. We were quick with our passing as well as when we transition from defence to attack, okay looks like your parents are waiting so let me not keep you guys long. You can go change and go home” says the coach. Brock then goes to change and after that he heads to his father and grandfather. “ good game slugger” says Dana “ yeah good game. You want ice cream” says Ray “ yeah” responds an excited Brock as they leave.
