Dana goes to see his parents Ray and Cathy Tough. His mother opens the door for him. “Hello ma” says Dana “hey son” replies Cathy as she lets him into the house. “Something is troubling you isn’t it” she adds “I hope you didn’t read my mind” replies Dana, “I could never do that to you my boy, I respect your privacy. Also I don’t need to read your mind you are my son, I can tell when you aren’t fine” she says. Ray walks in from the kitchen “Dana! This is a lovely surprise” he says as he takes a seat. “Hey dad, how are you doing” asks Dana “oh I can’t complain, I was just about to take a short drive to the farm” replies Ray. Dana then looks at both his parents “so are you going to tell me what’s bothering you” asks Cathy. Dana takes a deep breath and says “ I think I may have passed the anadite gene to my kids” says Dana, “come again” says Ray “ I think your grandchildren have anadite blood in them” says Dana again, “ I know, I just want to know what makes you says such, do you have any evidence” replies Ray. Dana then rubs his head and says “yeah I do well I sort of do. I have my suspicions but now I am sure. See Brock is killing the kids at his school, and I don’t just mean academically I mean physically as well. And Roman yesterday at Lion Park imitated the roar of a lion to perfection”. There is a short moment of silence before Cathy says “ well if what you are saying is true then Roman I think we can be sure he is an anadite, and judging from what you just said he is already showing you his special abilities” “ yes the ability to absorb, duplicate and imitate” adds Ray. “I thought so too” says Dana “I had a soldier that had the ability to do that, got us out of trouble one time we were captured during the sack of a planet, I can’t remember the name but long story short he helped us escape because he had taken the form of one of the generals who had captured us” says Ray. “ well what about Brock” asks Cathy “ with him I am not sure yet what his abilities are” replies Dana “ but the boy is definitely an anadite” says Ray “ what makes you say that” asks Dana “ well first of all we know that child was not supposed to survive his birth, you know being a premature baby an all, but I can sense a deep power growing inside him” says Cathy “ then why didn’t you say anything” asks Dana “ deep potential if we were back home I believe they would have turned him into a killer” says Ray “ and I’m not sure I want that for him” says Dana.  “ I think you should observe them more carefully and maybe from time to time put them in situations where they may use their powers, consciously or subconsciously” suggests Ray “ and bring them over, I miss my grandchildren” says Cathy before she continues “ I may also be able to see what exactly they can do”. Dana gets up to leave and says “I think that’s what I will do, I will keep my eye on them”. He is heading for the door when Ray calls him “ Dana come over here a minute, I’ve been meaning to ask when last did you talk to your brother”  Dana turns and asks “ which one” “ Damascus” says Cathy “ I don’t know it’s been months since we spoke” replies Dana “ when you get the chance please talk try talk some sense into him” says Cathy “ no I will not do that Damascus is a grown man who can make his own decisions” replies a slightly irritated Dana. He then walks to his car and opens the door. “I just want to say I want to be the one to train your kids” says Ray “we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it, alright pops” replies Dana “I agree with him Ray, there’s a lot of moving pieces here. Their reaction to finding out and Casey too” says Cathy. “right Casey, I don’t know how she’ll react to all of this” says Dana “I say don’t tell her” suggests Ray “no Ray I think that’s a decision Dana needs to make on his own” says Cathy “I don’t like lying to her about this” bemoans Dana “but it is for her own safety, the less people know who we really are the better” says Cathy. “I think I will take it step by step, assess the situation and see what decision is beneficial to all parties, for all we know they may not even have the abilities of an anadite” says Dana. He starts the engine and says “goodbye guys, I’ll pass by later this week with some vegetables”. He then pulls out and drives away as his parents watch him leave. They walk back to the house “you know that if they do have anadite DNA it will get harder for us stay hidden” says Cathy “yes I know especially if they start to behave like Damascus and his unruly son David” replies Ray “I doubt they will turn out like David, Dana and Casey are doing a good job raising them” says Cathy “a good job so far” replies Ray. “Part of me hopes that they are not anadites, it could tear Dana and Casey’s marriage” says Cathy, “Well we can only wait and see it unfold. Unless” replies Ray as he gives her a funny look “no! That’s not going to happen” replies Cathy.
