Chants of Change

1050 Words
Isabela is not sure if she should be thankful for Nadia's proposal or not. If it hadn't been for her, she would have been unconscious right now abd barely clinging to life. On the other hand, she also wanted to get the punishment done. What she did the past few weeks had been selfish, she realized. She acted based on her personal grudge and she did not think about the coven that took her in ever since she was a kid. Somehow, she just assumed Esme would understand and be fine with it. Along the way, she forgot about her role as a witch. She wanted the punishment to happen just so she could atone for her sins. And then came Nadia. Proposing she not be punished dahil gusto nitong siya ang magturo sa kanya ng mga spells. Esme agreed and now she is stuck with the inexperienced witch. "Do you want me to go back to Esme and tell her I changed my mind so she can punish you?" tanong nito sa kanya. "You already sealed the deal." Nadia wanted to start right away at kung siya ang tatanungin, she wanted to start as early as possible too. Nadia has to learn basic spells before then. Sa nakikita niya sa babae, tila interesado talaga itong matuto. For whatever reason, she doesn't care but she assumed it was so she could stop the twins. Maybe her blood slayer instincts are kicking in. "You put so much focus on your witch form when your wolf form is just as effective against the rippers," she said. Nakita naman niya itong biglang namula at napaubo. Her brows furrowed. "As much as possible, I don't want my wolf form to come out. I think my witch side is more interesting. And besides, kahit pa kagatin ko sila gamit ang anyong lobo ko, Lorcan could easily heal them with his blood." Napatango siya sa sinabi ng babae. Somehow, it made sense. But she still got the feeling that there is something Nadia isnt telling her. "We could start with the spell that you used a few hours ago." Tumaas ang kilay ng babae. "Cloaking spell?" Isabela nodded. "To hide something or someone." "You uncloaked the rippers earlier. Now try to reverse that spell and cloak yourself." Isabela crossed her arms as she observed. Isang bagay ang napansin niya kay Nadia. Perhaps it was because she had trained as a blood slayer that her concentration is always at its peak. She doesnt have any difficulty in focusing to a certain thing. Concentration is the main point for witches so they could get the spell to work. "Then chant the spell Invisique," saad niya. Her hands were already in front, palms up. "Invisique." A small smirk formed in her mouth. Maybe Nadia is going to learn more than just basic spells in a span of one week. "Non invisique," she said and Nadia appeared back in front of her. Nadia was grinning smugly in her direction and she nodded. "That was better than I expected," saad niya. "Did I do it right?" tanong ng babae sa kanya. She was tempted not to give her any more praises. "You did," she said, anyway. "Now do it again." She gave hee instructions and Nadia was quick to follow them. Hindi niya namalayan ang oras. By the time it was almost three hours of practicing, Nadia could do the cloaking spell in a matter of seconds. "When can I learn how to cloak my wolf form?" tanong nito sa kanya matapos ang kanilang pahinga. "Why would you want to cloak your wolf form?" She saw her getting hesitant to answer. "Nevermind," she said. "Concealing your wolf form is not an easy magic. You will have to master your abilities first before you can maneuver it however you want. "So anong gagawin ko?" "Wait for yourself to master your magic and then you can do the spell to cloak your wolf form. Your witch magic intensified it somehow. Maybe if you keep on mastering it, you will get used to your wolf form." "Now tell me how to do a tracking spell," she said. "You don't get to tell me what to teach you." "I know but we both know the cloaking spell was way more complex than the tracking spell. This should be easy." Nagpakawala lang siya ng malalim na hininga. Maybe she should be thankful that Nadia is a fast learner. She might not be punished in a week after all.
