Turn The Other Cheek

Aedion sits on the chair. He is not bound but he does not move as he well knows it wouldn't be wise. Sebastian and Lorcan lingered around him while she stood in front of him.

Nadia could have asked Hera but from their last encounter, Hera doesnt seem to be keen on being civil with her. Jot after she had helped thhe Sylvaines not for the headquarters but for her personal reasons. Isa pa, hindi niya pa gustong sabihin sa kahit na sino kung ano siya. Not yet. She trusts Kai will do the same kahit nagtatampo ito sa kanya.

All she has is Aedion. And given that he's an alpha, he could give her information.

"What is this all about?" Aedion asked. "What do you want to know, Nadia?"

She was scared to ask the question ngunit alam niyang hindi na siya pwedeng umatras. She is getting closer to the truth about her parents. Hindi na siya pwedeng tumigil ngayon. Especially not now when she discovered something about who she truly is. All this time, she thought she was human.

"I am a wolf," she told him. Nakita naman niyang kumunot ang noo ni Aedion habang nakatingin sa kanya. He looked as though he was inclined to believe what she just said but at the same time, he's finding it hard to believe.

Hindi agad nakapagsalita ang lalaki at naiintindihan niya iyon.

"What...how?" tanging sabi nito sa kanya. Maski siya ay nahihirapang ipaliwanag rito kung paano siya naging lobo ngunit alam niyang kung gusto niya ng s**o mula kay Aedion, kailangan niyang sabihin ang lahat. So she sat down on the chair in front of him and started talking. Surprisingly, the Sylvaines were quiet. Lorcan was sitting near the fireplace, drinking his wine, while Sebastian was standing by the window, holding his glass.

Nang matapos siya ay tila naiintindihan na ni Aedion ang buong storya. "So what you want to ask is about your pack."

She nodded. "I don't know if my mother was the wolf. Or if my father is. Maybe it's both of them."

"I think only one of them is a wolf," Aedion said. Nagtataka naman siyang napatingin rito.

"You don't change during the full moon. You don't have the main qualities of a wolf. You have a wolf's blood but only a bit of it. One of your parents is a wolf."

"I agree with Aedion," saad naman ni Sebastian. At first, she was surprised that he was helping her ngunit sinabi nito sa kanya na tumulong siya sa problema ng pamilya nito noon. He was just paying what he owed. A man of honor, indeed.

Humarap sa kanila si Sebastian. "Lorcan is half wolf. He doesn't change at full moon."

"He's a hybrid. I'm half-human. Do I belong to a certain pack or something?"

Aedion looked at her. "Every wolf pack has different qualities. My pack transforms during the full moon just like many other packs. Although our difference from them is that, we can use our wolf qualities even if we're in human form. Our bites could still be as lethal. May iba naman na nakokontrol nila ang kanilang kakayahan na magbago ng anyo. They could become wolves even if it's not the full moon, kagaya na lang ng Moonstone pack kung saan nabibilang ang kasamahan niyong si Hera. Some have a similar mark on certain or specific parts of their body. If one of your parents is a wolf, he or she should belong to a pack. But since you don't know much about them, it's going to be hard for you."

She dreaded the idea that she has reached the dead-end once again. Ngunit mas mabuti nalang ngayon kaysa noon. Before, she was blindly looking for information. But then she heard of blood slayers so she made herself one. Hanggang sa napunta siya sa sitwasyon ito where she's working with the very creatures she was trained to kill. This time, this isn't about the organization anymore. This time, it's all about her and the very reason why she is who she is today.

Hindi niya namalayang kanina pa pala siya tahimik hanggang sa narinig niyang magsalita si Lorcan. "What would you do now, Nadia? Seems like you're running out of ways," saad nito. Tiningnan niya ang lalaki at nakangiti ito sa gawi niya. His smile was the kind of smile that's unpredictable. He could be just genuinely amused or already plotting her death.

Ngunit alam niya kung saan siya makakahanap ng impormasyon tungkol sa kanyang mga magulang. Then again, just like what Aedion said, it's going to be hard.

"Let's go, Aedion," she said and stood. Tumayo naman ang lalaki at sumunod sa kanya. Hinarap niya ang dalawang bampira.

"Thank you for your help. I think I can manage on my own now," saad niya.

Nakita naman niyang tumaas ang kilay ni Lorcan sa gawi niya. "Are you sure?" He wasn't smiling anymore. If she didn't know better, she would have mistaken that as worry but it's Lorcan. No one really knows what he's thinking. Not even his siblings.

"I am certain," she answered.

But then the door burst open and in came Eleanor. She was surprised at her sudden appearance but she was more surprised at the body she carried on her back. Sa ekspresyon nito ay tila hindi nito inaasahan na makikita sila nito doon. Eleanor let out a saccharine smile, particularly in Aedion's direction. Tumingin ito sa kanya.

"You can leave, but the Alpha will remain," Eleanor said before dropping the body to the floor and rolling her shoulders.

When the body rolled out to the floor, saka niya nakilala kung sino iyon.

"Joana!" Aedion screamed and was about to run towards Eleanor's direction when suddenly, he stopped and held his head as though it was being broken. Nakita naman niyang lumabas si Leila sa likuran ni Eleanor.

"Leila?" she called and the woman looked at her. She could see the pained expression on her face as though she doesn't want to do what she was doing.

"Eleanor, what is the meaning of this?" Sebastian asked. His voice was so calm as though he was talking to a child. Eleanor did not remove her gaze from Aedion. He was kneeling on the floor. Leila was probably not doing something to him anymore because he doesn't look like he was in pain. Nakatingin lang si Aedion sa babaeng nagngangalang Joana na walang malay sa sahig. Humihinga pa naman ito.

"This man here and his pack is going to help up defeat Isabel," Eleanor said. She said it in a matter which tells her that she will not take no for an answer.

Alam niyang alam iyon ni Aedion. Dahan-dahan itong tumayo mula sa pagkakaluhod at nakita naman niya si Leila na naghanda kung sakaling aatake man si Aedion. But the Alpha remained standing and staring at Joana for a few seconds before looking in Eleanor's direction.

"I will do what you want if you don't hurt Joana," he said. And then his expression turned cold and murderous. "But I will tell you this, Eleanor Sylvaine. I swear to you, you will regret this."

Naglakad ito sa gawi ni Eleanor at akmang aatake na si Leila nang pigilan ito ni Eleanor. Aedion didn't mind and walked straight to where Joana was. He gingerly lift her up from the floor and turned to look at Sebastian.

"Can I use one of your rooms?" he asked. Sebastian just nodded and Aedion went upstairs to tuck in Joana safely. Sumunod naman agad si Leila kay Aedion nang utusan ito ni Eleanor. She knew Eleanor has something against Leila kaya hindi ito maka hindi sa kanya. She narrowed her eyes.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"It's no business of yours."

Bago pa man siya makasagot sa babae ay nagsalita ulit ito. "The witch ancestors stripped Esmeralda the title of a coven leader. They thought Isabela would be perfect for the role, given her sheer determination to kill us."

She looked at Lorcan at nakita niyang nakakunot ang noo nito. Another problem has risen and it still has something to do with killing the Sylvaines. But she does not have any business with it anymore. Nalaman niya ang kanyang totoong katauhan at ang tungkol sa kanyang mga magulang. Right now, she has matters in her own hands that needs attention. Kailangan niyang mahanap kung sino ang kanyang ama o kung buhay pa ba ito o hindi na. And she needs to go after Kaiden.

Her eyes found Lorcan and his stare was inscrutable. Ngunit kagaya ng sinabi ni Eleanor kanina, she doesn't have any business with it anymore. So she slightly nodded her head towards the Sylvaines and walked straight to the door.
