Zion’s POV I kicked the door of the hotel I was staying here in Maple Tree close behind me, and I tossed the key card unto the f*****g dresser before walking to the couch. This wasn’t what I wanted, not at all. This wasn’t the life I wanted to live with my son. I wanted him under my roof, with him knowing I’m his father, not him thinking I was Mommy’s friend, or meeting him in some stupid park. Raking my fingers through my hair, I used them to massage the muscles of my skull that had seemed to be so tight and tense since the day I discovered I had a son I didn’t know about.
