Christina's POV It's been two days since I met Aaron. Two days since Dora came in drunk and has refused to speak to me. Aaron and I never exchanged numbers so I could not reach him. Dora came in few minutes after Aaron left. I was thankful for that because it would have felt awkward if they met, not because I was afraid of her reaction, she was my best friend, she would be happy i finally met a guy to bring home. I was not sure what was going on with Aaron and I and it will be too soon to start introducing him to my family. Dora came in really drunk, it looked like something was bothering her, but she refused to let me help her or talk to her.. I rushed over to where Dora was standing, still struggling with her shoes. I tried to help her but she pushed me away. " Dont" "What?.... Dora, are you okay?" I asked her. She was sweating, hiccupping, and she was shaking. She began to scared me. Dora didn't respond to me, she just walked out on me into her room. Now I was confused. Was it something I did? All through our friendship, Dora has always known when I was angry, and even when I did not tell her the reason, she found out on her own. So me not knowing the reason she was angry made me feel like a shitty friend. I went to knock on her door but she shouted at me to go away. All through Saturday, she locked herself in her room and when I was in mine, she'd come out and leave the house. I barely saw her. I tried again on Saturday night, knocking on her door, but I got no response. It was really starting to piss me off. I was a really calm and patient person but I hated offending people and not even knowing what I did wrong. Plus this was Dora we were talking about. My best friend, my soul sister. Why was she suddenly angry? Urghhh. I hated this! Now Monday I had to leave for work. I woke up in a shitty mood. I hadn't heard from Aaron, and Dora was still mad at me. So yes I was stressed which told me that today would be a long day. I woke up way before my alarm rang off to disturb the whole neighborhood. Ms. Peterson in the next building was a very light sleeper and always complained that I woke her up with my alarm. She was a middle aged woman in her late 50s who was a retired nurse and extremely sweet. So I always felt bad when she complained that I woke her up. I finished preparing much quicker than I expected. About to leave the house, I heard a door opening, I was too confused on what to do to leave my room. I really was not prepared for a confrontation this morning. Dora knew how to get to me with her words and I really was not ready for that. So I stood where I was, trying to add finishing touches to my clothes. I was putting on a creme' pair of pants, a cropped brown button down that ties just below my breast with brown heels. Considering my size, the pants were a little bit loose, I was indeed surprised I even got a size as this, but the thrift seller was a long time friend of mine, so I trusted her to get me good stuff and she never disappointed. I took my cream tote' bag, which contained the book I was reading, my lip gloss, a pair of vans in case I needed to stop by at the library, I hated walking on heels, plus the library was just a walking distance from my hospital. I waited till I heard Dora's door close signifying that she had entered her room before I came out. Yes call me a coward! But in my defense, I'm just trying to prepare myself for whatever she had to say. I had never been a confrontational person, I tend to avoid confrontations and conflict as possible and as best as I can. I was an easy crier if there was such a thing, so I hated conflicts. I was already late so I had to rush out of the house to get to the bus stop which was also very shitty considering Dora normally drove me when going to hers. It was the same street only farther so we usually went together. Now I had to take the bus which was terrible. I had not renewed my driver's license because I did not have enough money yet to replace my old car. My mum wanted to support me but I insisted I had to do this on my own. I was a grown woman, I made quite a salary, I just loved to buy more clothes and food than save and I swore to whoever cared to listen that I was working on that. Taking the bus was not all bad, since it was early, people were not much, much to my delight. I got to work at a reasonable amount of time so I could go down to Cafe to have my break fast. I worked in and I met the nurse at the reception. She was very rude to me because she was in love with my boss, and thought he was in love with me, which was really funny. Yes my boss was a handsome man in his 40s, and I know he used to have feelings for me because he always spoke smoothly and calmly to me, complemented me and never spoke harshly, but I really didn't see him in that light. Sometimes I caught him staring at me for too long, but I never paid attention to it. Despite his flirty attempts every time, I always kept it professional so he would not get the wrong idea. I had told the nurse, Kim, that I was not interested in him, but she had refused to believe me which did not bother me at all because I did not care if she believed or not. I only told her that this crush she had, if she did not act on it would drive her mad. I'd know. Of course Doctor Mac, the senior dentist I was assisting, my boss, had not come in. So I kept my bag in his office so whenever he came and he did not see me, he would know I had already arrived. I took a walk down to my favorite cafe. It was owned by a Spanish couple that were really funny and sweet. I knew if I ever lost my job as a dentist, I had a space there. It was usually packed mornings because their coffee and donuts were so good, and it was in a busy area. I strolled in like I owned the place, this was amongst the places I could be confident and not care what people said about my body, because the wife of restaurant, Florence, was plus sized like me, I wish I could have the confidence she had, but I was getting there. "Mamita, damn you look sexy" Florence spoke up smiling like she always does. She was really beautiful, I was awed by her sometimes. She looked like most Spanish woman did, black hair, clear skin, and a really sharp tongue. I looked down at my own outfit and smiled up at her. She always complemented me whatever I wore, even days I was feeling bad about myself. "Thank you Florence"" I replied with a genuine smile on my Face. "So the usual?" she asked "Yes thanks..." I answered looking around for Rodriguez her husband. "He's not coming in today. Had a meeting with our investors" Florence stated having figured out who I was looking for. "Investors? Anybody looking to invest" I asked seeming happy for them. That could open greater doors for them, like they could open another restaurant or something. I did not know how investing worked but I guess is was a good thing, but Florence did not seem to think so " Yes a company called lifting others. Heard of it?" She asked raising her eyes in a questioning manner. " Err not really but I'm sure it is good no?" I asked really trying to find out why she seemed skeptical about the whole thing. "Flor.. why are you skeptical, are you not sure about this? I thought you've always wanted to open another restaurant, this could be good" I stated firmly. "I know that.. but this company looks really shady Mamacita, and Rod won't listen to me. Insisting that the suspicion is all in my head" she replied now looking extremely sad. "Look let me not waste anymore of your time alright. We will talk later" she said, trying to shut me down. "We have to talk Flor.. I'll come straight here after walk, don't go anywhere. I'm serious" I answered her as I took my coffee and donuts and walked with my back towards the door as I faced her. "Yeah yeah sure now out you get. Have a nice day Mamacita and I know something is wrong but don't look that sad this morning, it will make you get old quick" she smiled and waved me off. She always knew when something was wrong with me and always told me to stop getting sad and angry or else my wrinkles would appear before I got to 30 but I always laughed at her. I walked as fast as I could back to my office hoping my boss had not yet arrived which was unlikely because he was an early bird himself. I got to the hospital and it seemed as if people had already arrived as it was really busy, and the reception was now crowded. I strolled into my part of the office and saw two people talking. One of them was my boss. Hearing the sound of the door, the both of them turned to look at me. "Aaron?
