Growing up in Nora Keres's household had been t*****e, even when father was alive. The constant bickering and fighting had always gotten on my nerves even as a child. They had fought so hard, that at a time I had been scared that father would get mad and leave. But he hadn't done that, he had stayed for me. He had tried to fix a failed mating for me. But it hadn't worked because Nora Keres was a hardened woman incapable of love. My father Stephen was a good man, and a doting father too. He tried to be a good husband too, but Nora Keres is a hard woman to love.
He had loved her so much, but she had kept breaking his heart over and over and over again. She never cheated because apparently that was beneath a Keres and my mother held too tightly to the Keres legacy. And goddess forbid!
