An hour later, the tables are cleared and the festivities begin. I do my toast to Cindy and Rob, providing a much-edited anecdote of how they reconnected at The West, which gets more than a few laughs. Then follows the cutting of the cake and the bride and groom feeding each other. There’s a gleam in Cindy’s eye as she brings the piece up to Rob’s mouth, and I wait for what’s sure to happen. But she behaves herself, much to everyone’s disappointment. Finally, we come to the part I’ve been dreading most.
