That evening, Rosamond took out her laptop and opened a desktop folder titled ‘U.S. Trip.’ Inside the folder was a cache of photographs she’d never looked through. She found she was able to go through them without breaking down. Some even made her smile. There was one of herself and Eloise on the High Roller Ferris wheel in Las Vegas which she set aside, thinking she might print it off, frame it and hang it on the wall. Almost instantly, she changed her mind and dragged it back into the folder with the others. One thing she’d never told interviewers when they asked about her art was that she’d began to work with nature because it soothed her. She’d wanted to get out into the open, away from people, away from conversation and good intentions and pitying looks and forever being asked
