My Mate Has Two Wolves

Catherine's POV "Nope. Judy, no way. This shows way too much skin." A young woman looked down at her crop top, which barely contained her breasts. "Relax. You look sexy. This is trendy in New York. I swear that the future Lycan King will be attracted to you if he is here." Judy took the young woman by her arm and walked towards the crowd. "Forget it, Judy. We don't know what's popular in New York. I only know that it's not popular here." The young woman shook off Judy's hand and said, "I'm going to take it off." I sat alone on a dining chair in the corner and listened to the conversation of the two girls not far away, feeling a little bored. Today was the mating gathering of Shadow Forest. A mating gathering should be held in New Jersey every year. The current Lycan King set that rule himself, because his son hadn't had a mate after he grew up. Since that rule was established, the wolf packs near Shadow Forest would hold a mating gathering here every year. The Alpha and Luna of every wolf pack would come here with those werewolves in their pack who didn't have a mate. Those werewolves could look for their mates at the mating gathering. If one didn't find her mate, she could participate in the mating gathering next year until she got a mate. The future Lycan King might appear at any of the mating gathering, so many female werewolves fantasized about being his destined mate. But all of this had nothing to do with me as I was a werewolf without a wolf. Just as I was strolling around with a glass of raspberry juice in my hand, I saw my stepmother Elena Anderson talking to my stepsister Gina Wyatt under a tree in a corner of the square. I crept up to them and stood under another tree. Although I didn't have a wolf, my hearing was particularly excellent. Thus, I could still hear what they were talking about at a distance. "Why does Daddy take Catherine here every year? She is not a real werewolf. She will only embarrass us!" I took a sip of the raspberry juice and snorted. The complaint about me was from Gina, who was four years younger than me. "Keep your voice down, Gina. Many Lunas here are good friends of Catherine's mother," Elena whispered to Gina. "That damn woman died so many years ago. Why does everyone still remember her? If only she hadn't given birth to that i***t Catherine!" Gina muttered disapprovingly. Although Gina lowered her voice, I still heard it. Anger was boiling up inside me. How dare she! How dared Gina call my mother names! I couldn't stand anyone insulting my mother. I decided to teach Gina a lesson! A while later, Gina went away from Elena and seemed to go to meet her friends. I took two steps back and hid behind the tree. When Gina passed by the tree, I immediately stood behind her and patted her on the shoulder. "Hey! b***h!" I said to Gina. As Gina turned around, I poured my raspberry juice onto her face. "What the f**k!" Gina cursed and shouted in anger. The red raspberry juice flowed down from her head and stained the white dress she put on for today. "Next time you want to speak ill of someone else's mother, you'd better remember this lesson!" I crossed my arms and watched Gina scream wildly. "You madman! You're completely mad!" Gina took out some tissue to wipe the juice off her skirt, but it didn't help. As the raspberry juice was still dripping from her hair, Gina rolled the tissue into a ball and threw them on the ground in a rage. "Catherine! How dare you do this to your sister?" Gina's scream attracted the attention of the crowd. Elena quickly walked over and stood beside Gina. "I heard her speaking ill of my mother!" I pointed at Gina and shouted. Then murmurs went around the crowd. In spite of the sign of nerves in her eyes, Elena berated, "I don't know what you're talking about. Apologize to Gina!" "Get her out! Mom! I don't want to see her anymore!" Stamping her feet, Gina was furious, with her hands covered in raspberry juice. The discussion of the crowd made Gina even more anxious. Gina shook off Elena's hand and ran to Shadow Forest with tears. "Gina! Baby! Where are you going?" Elena looked extremely worried. Elena turned around and looked at me fiercely. "You... You'd better take your sister back. If anything happens to her, I'll tell your father what you've done." I stared after Elena as she went away. I didn't take her threat seriously. Anyway, my father had always been partial to her and Gina. However, I had to do as Elena had said because I couldn't disobey the current Luna. Therefore, I left the square to look for Gina. "Gina! Where are you?" I was now at the periphery of Shadow Forest, some distance from the square. If I kept moving forward, I would go deep into the forest. I didn't think that Gina would lose her mind and run into the forest late at night. I tried hard to ignore the laughter of the crowd to see if there were Gina's footsteps. Suddenly, I smelled the scent of vanilla. I had smelled countless fragrances, but I swore that none of them were as attractive as this one. I followed the scent and tried to approach the source. When I got close to a tree, a tall man sprang out from behind the tree. Instantly, a strong scent of vanilla came at me. Though I couldn't see the guy's face in the dim light, I knew he wasn't one of my pack members. "Who are you?" I asked carefully. His breathing was loud, and I had a feeling that he was staring at me in the dark. In such a case, I didn't dare to act rashly. Suddenly, he pounced at me and had me in his arms. He was so strong that I couldn't break free. Just as I attempted to shout for help, I abruptly had a strange feeling. My consciousness seemed to be occupied by another person. I couldn't think clearly and fainted in the end. The sunlight hurt my eyes. I slowly sat up and found myself in an unfamiliar room. The clothes scattered on the ground were the ones I wore in the night of mating yesterday. I tried to recall what had happened yesterday, and I found that I seemed to have been attacked outside Shadow Forest. I threw back the covers and scrambled out of bed, picking up my clothes in a hurry. The discomfort between my legs reminded me of what had happened last night. That damned werewolf r***d me when I fainted! I saw a man's suit jacket on the nearby chair, and then I threw it on the bed in anger. I pondered, "How could that damned werewolf just leave like that?" Although I didn't have a wolf, I still had a chance of finding my mate. The special feeling I had yesterday puzzled me. I wondered, "Is he my mate? Why can't I feel anything now?" Despite the pain between my legs, I put on my clothes. But then I found that the obsidian pendant given by my mother was missing. After I looked for it everywhere in the room and became frustrated, I heard a knock on the door.
