47 I opened my eyes. I’d fallen asleep again. I felt warm and completely relaxed, like I’d had a really good night’s sleep. I didn’t want to move from the bed. I wanted to soak up the softness, the warmth, the fact that there was a roof over my head and I was clean and dry and there were no little crawly things moving through the leaf mulch toward me. Nothing crawling in my hair. No one waiting to put chains on me. No mushrooms or weird and dangerous plants or dinosaurs or jungle cats or little furry things with sharp teeth. I sighed.
