Chapter 6 Dom waited impatiently for Travis, checking the time on his phone. He’d put the laundry in—another thing Kiko liked—and only briefly considered sweeping the bedroom floor. Instead he knocked on the guest room door. “Trav, we have to get going. We got appointments—” “Yeah, yeah,” came the muffled response. When he finally opened the door, Dom frowned at him and led the way down the stairs. “You were supposed to be ready when I got back from work.” Travis didn’t even try to object to that. The drive to New Slough was uncomfortable, Travis sulking, Dom wishing he’d pay more attention. He’d made sure to take an easy route that led past the jerky factory so that Travis would know where he was going on Wednesday, a suggestion Kiko had made the night before. “So you like this guy?
