SAMANTHA's POV

"Guys.. what do you suggest in CJ's birthday?" Zairell asked.

We were inside CJ's coffee shop, she asked me to wait in here since she have lot of paperwork to do until the squad arrived in here. Our 2nd year college life has ended and we're going 3rd years now and since we're all in vacation, they decided to plan about CJ's upcoming birthday.

"Why don't we just throw a party?" Keisha suggested.

"Nah! That's too common, why don't we go out of the country? Since it's summer vacation." Annabelle said.

"Na uh! I don't think CJ would like that idea." Yhen refused to agree.

"Why don't you asked her girlfriend?" Claire said so they all looked at me.

"What do you want to suggest Sammy?" Zairell asked. I was just sitting in silence and enjoying my cup of coffee and now they are asking me but I don't really know what to suggest, because first, I'm already having a hard time to think what gift I would give her because she already has everything. Until our conversation earlier on our way here suddenly flashed back to me.

"Guys I think Anna's suggestion suits at CJ's birthday." I said.

"What? Why?" Yhen asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Well.. CJ wanted to meet her idol, Erika Linder, so I was just thinking if we should surprise her with that."

"Ah.. the dude that lead in CJ's favourite movie.." Zairell said when she heard the name of the actor.

"Hmm well that's not bad, besides CJ's family owned a house at Canada." Yhen finally agreed. "so it's a plan then, we just need to asked CJ.."

"Asked me what?" All of us looked behind when CJ spoke. We were shocked that we almost got caught so no one dared to speak. CJ sat next to me and looked up. "so guys.. what do you wanna ask?"

"Uh dude.." Yhen stammered and her gaze shifted to me. "Sammy wants to ask you something." I snapped my head to her and my mouth fell open, but she just laugh awkwardly and scratch her head. CJ turned to me with her questioning eyes.

"Ah baby, we were thinking if we can go out of the country since we're still in a vacation." I said.

"Where?" She asked.

"Canada is it ok with you?"

"Hmm not bad. We have a house there so it's fine." She said and everyone's face lit up. "That's all?"

"Yes that's all.." Zairell said dismissively.

"I'll just need to tell it to Mom and Dad for my birthday." CJ said and we actually understand it because they have this family rule.

"It's ok dude.. we can go there after your family gatherings. No need to rush.." Zairell said.

"Okay then."

After that small talk, we go in separate ways because we still have things to do for CJ's birthday. While we were in the road, I was thinking deeply on what am I going to do to let CJ meet her all time idol. The squad gave me that task and now aside from the gift, I got another problem to think.

"Babe?"

"Huh?"

"Are you even listening?" She asked with a pout but her eyes still on the road.

"Sorry baby, I was just thinking something." I admit. "What were you saying again?"

"What are you thinking?" She asked back.

"Nothing much." I shrugged.

"We're here.." She announced and I automatically looked outside the window. And we're in front of the building where I live. She stepped out and open the door for me.

"Babe I won't be able to walk you upstairs, I need to go to the bar to check the details of the new drink suppliers."

"It's ok, but baby don't stress yourself too much. After that, you need to go home so you can rest." I said after I got off.

Lately, CJ was so busy about her business because she started to manage them on her own, since Zairell needed to manage their own family business. And CJ was glad that Zairell helped her a lot before but this time, she needs to do it on her own.

"Yes ma'am." She was about to kiss me when her phone rang.. "I need to go babe, Ruth is calling. I think the suppliers are already there."

I just nodded my head and she kissed and hugged me quickly before running back to her car, she was about to leave when I knocked her window and she rolled it down.

"You forgot something," I pouted.

"Oh! Shoot! I'm sorry babe I'm in a rush.. I love you." She said and popped out her head outside the window and puckered her lips.

"I love you more. Text me when you get there." I said and kissed her lips before stepping back.

"I will, I gotta go bye." She waved her hand and honk before she sped away.

I let out a contented sigh before deciding to enter the lobby. The guard greeted me as he handed me a bouquet of flower. I asked if who gave it but instead of answering, he gave me a card. I thanked him and read the card when I'm in front of the elevator.

"Sorry babe, I was so busy lately.. I'll make it up to you next time. I love you babe.

I couldn't help but to smile and fishes out my phone quickly to send a message to her.

Hey baby.. you don't have to make it up for me,only with your smiles will do. Thanks for the flowers anyway. Just take care a'right? I love you too.

My smile stayed in my lips till I reached my unit while still typing on my phone, until I entered inside.

"Looks like there's someone is inl ove.."

I got startled when someone spoke and looked up. I saw a woman sitting pretty in my couch, holding a glass of wine in her hand and her legs crossed.

"Arlene?!" I exclaimed upon seeing her and didn't waste any time and run towards her and engulfed her tightly.

"Whoa chill girl.." She chuckled when the wine almost got spill.

"Sorry I was just happy to see you! I thought you're in Europe. When did you arrived?!"

"This morning and where have you been?" She asked as she stood up.

"I'm with my partner earlier." I replied as I guided her to sit back. I didn't bother to asked her how did she get in since she knows the key on my condo because I used the same back in Europe.

"What a sweet partner you have there." She teases, pointing at the bouquet of flowers.

"Well.. She's just trying to make it up for me, she's been busy lately." I shrugged and put down the flower on the center table and faced her again. "How are you? You told me that you left the country because of your ex, right?"

"Yeah.. that was my real reason but I came back a few months ago but she still rejected me again and now, I returned because I want to try it again." She said with certainty in her voice.

"Why did you guys broke up in the first place?" I asked curiously. She told me about their break up but she never told us the reason, which is we respected so if she doesn't want to tell me now, I'm still going to respect it. We didn't even a had to meet her boyfriend.

"Well I made a big mistake and I regretted it. I still love her, Sammy."

"Wait! Her? You mean?"

"Yes Sammy, she's a lesbian.." She answered.

"Whoa.. what a surprised.. mine's too!" I smiled at her.

"So you're telling me that your partner is a lesbian?" She asked in shock and I nod my head fervently. "That's a big news then. I thought your straight?"

"Well I guess, it doesn't matter if I'm straight or not, love is love. And I'm not regretting it at all, 'coz she's worthy."

"Good for you, I hope that she won't hurt you." She said with proud and warm smile.

"As she should or I'll break her leg." I joked and we both laugh.

"How about Claire? I heard that she's here also? Does she have a boyfriend?" She asked.

"I don't know, she's still in in denial stage." I suddenly remember to call her to inform her that one of our friend is back. "Wait let me call her to tell her that you're here."

I grabbed my phone and dialed Claire's number. Arlene signaled me to give her my phone and so I give it to her before Claire could answer the phone.

"Hey b***h!" Arlene greeted and put it on loud speaker.

"What did you just call me?! Sammy is it you?" Claire yelled in disbelief from the other line.

"Nope Claire, it's me.."

"Wait! Arlene is that you?! Oh my go---."

"Who are you talking to?!" We heard another voice from the other line and I'm sure as hell that it was Yhen.

"Shut the hell up or I'll kick your ass!" Claire sneered. "Are you at Samantha's?" She asked again after we heard a shuffle sounds.

"Yeah so you better show your ass up in here." Arlene said.

"Wait me there witch! I'm coming.." That's all and Claire ended the call. I excused myself to get change and when I got back, I saw Claire and Arlene laughing.

"What did I miss?" I asked as I approached them.

"Nothing, we were just talking about her ex." Claire replied.

"Uh Arlene, since you're here. Why don't you come with us?" I asked.

"Where?"

"To Canada, we're going to celebrate her hottir girlfriend's birthday." Claire answered and she even flip her bangs cutely. She still has some crush on CJ and I can't blame her for that.

"You know what, I'm getting curious about your girl, Samantha because of the good qualities she has." Arlene laugh. "Do you have photo of her?"

"Of course, here—" I was about to give her my phone to show her CJ's photo but it suddenly rings. "Oh wait.. she's calling."

I immediately answered the phone and walked slightly away from them.

"Hey baby.."

"How's my princess?" CJ asked with sweet her voice.

"I'm good, how about my prince?"

"Tired, there's a lot of deliveries.. maybe I should shut my business coz it takes a lot of my time that supposedly yours." I can feel her exhaustions in her voice.

"Silly! I'm ok so don't worry.. you just need to take a rest, you don't have to give me your full attention."

"Yeah right, besides this is for our future so I need to do it." I bit my lower lip to suppress a wide smile with that.

"That’s right, so you should do your best. by the way thank you for the flowers."

"You're always welcome babe, I have to go, another truck arrives, I'll call you later I love you." I didn't had the chance to reply as the call ended quickly. I twitched my lips and turn my feet to go back in the living room.

"Sammy I need to go, just update me if when will leave, okay?" Arlene said when I returned from the kitchen.

"I should go back to my unit." Claire said with a meaningful look. I led them to the front door and bid a temporary goodbye. I still need to talk to my cousin in Canada because she's the only way I know to have connection with CJ's idol.

CJ's birthday is tomorrow and her family decided to celebrate it early since we have a trip out of the country to celebrate her birthday with the squad. She introduce me to everyone and they accepted me. They were all nice and kind to me.

Everyone is ready, we prepared our things and waiting for CJ because she said that she'll fetch us. We're gonna use their private plane so we don't have any hassles in our trip. Until my doorbell rings.

"Babe? Ready?" CJ asked when she opened the door. I am amazed on how she will ring the doorbell but open the door herself. orbell.

"Yeah, by the way, let's just wait for our friend at the airport, she said she's on her way there."

"Okay, let's go." She took my bag and offer her other hand. My suitcase isn't that big, it's big enough to bring clothes for five stay in Canada.

When we got to the airport, all of the squad are already there and we're the only ones missing along with Arlene. Even Oscar the third and Remilyn joined our trip.

"Shall we go guys?" AJ asked.

"Wait, I have a friend who will join us." I said to stopped them from walking. "Let me call her." I said as I fishes out my phone and I was about to dial her number when someone called my name.

"Samantha!" Arlene shouted and she run towards me but she halt when she saw the squad.

"Hey, let's go!" I yelled when she stopped from moving and just looking at the person next to me. She looked like she seen a ghost and I looked back, I saw the squad looking back at Arlene with anger in their eyes which made me confused. "What's going—." I didn't had the chance to finish my question when Keisha suddenly snapped out.

"What are you doing here?!" She growled.

"C-Chrysler..." Arlene said almost a whisper but that didn't missed my ears. My forehead furrowed and looked back to her.

"OMG! She's your EX?!" Claire exclaimed upon realising what is going on, she even covered her mouth.

My eyes automatically went to CJ for questioning but her serious face already answered my unsaid questions.

"Yes.. she's the one!" Annabelle answered for me.

"What?" I laughed dryly and turned my heels to face CJ, she's still staring at Arlene.

"You didn't tell me that she's your friend.." CJ said with her cold voice.

"You didn't tell me either that she was your Ex." I retaliate

"Coz I know it's unnecessary to tell you about her."

I scanned her face, trying to decipher if she's still affected seeing her ex girlfriend but she seems she is, because she would never act like this if not.

"So what now? Are we gonna stand here till night or we'll still go?" CJ's brother asked to break the tension.

"So do you wanna still go or not?" I asked Arlene. Even though I know her purpose why she returned, which is to take back CJ, I can't let our friendship ruin because of that. I just need to talk to her or if CJ wanted to go back then I'll let them be.

"Ah y-yes, am I still invited?" Arlene asked hesitatingly.

"Of course, you are.. right Sammy?" Claire asked meaningfully and I nod at her as a response.

Our flight is so awkward, knowing that CJ's ex girlfriend is with us and she's one of my best friend. I can notice how she keep glancing at my girlfriend but CJ acted like she couldn't see Arlene at all. She never spare Arlene even just a single glance since we board the plane.

"Babe, I'll take a nap." CJ said, with still cold voice.

"Okay, we still have a long flight." I said and hand her an eye mask. She reclined her seat and wore the eye mask, I thought that she's going to sleep, but she pulled my nape and kissed my lips lovingly. I slapped her arm lightly in too much surprised but she just laugh it off and plug the earphones in her ears and decided to take a nap. I continue what I was doing, which is doing paperwork from my businesses.

I was busy scanning some proposals who wanted to supply for my Bakeshop when Arlene spoke. My gaze darts up to her from my laptop.

"How long have you been together?" She asked.

"Just recently." I short replied and went back to my laptop to continue what I was reading.

"Of all people, why it has to be her, Samantha?" She said and I looked up again, titling my head on the side confusedly.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked back, chuckling dryly.

"I already told you earlier my reason why I came back here! My god Sammy! Of all people why her?!" She repeated and I felt like she's blaming for something that I don't have any control of.

"So what do you want me to do? Give her back to you?" I sneered, I'm trying my best not to talk to her about this matter while we're in here, as much as possible, I want to talk to her alone and in private. "In the first place! I didn't know that she was your Ex, and second! I don't give a s**t in any of your reason why you'd came back! She's mine now Arlene.."

"I still love her and you know that!" She sneer back, holding back her tears but I don't f*****g care. They broke up a year ago and I think it's safe for me to say that I didn't betray her because I wasn't aware about their past.

"I don't hella care! I love her too and she love me! So stop all of this nonsense! Before I could forgot that you're my friend.." I threatened. I was trying to save our friendship by staying in silence but she seems asking for it so I'll give it to her. I'm not a stingy person but when it comes to CJ, I can be one.

"Hey will you guys please calm down?!" Claire rebuked us, she seems couldn't take our argument anymore. "You girls can talk about it in a good way and in private. We're friends remember?"

"What the hell is happening here?" CJ asked and everyone suddenly shut up.
