Tragedy

CJ's POV

"C-Chrysler.." Samantha's voice were shaking when she called my name.

I heard her, and I think she's the only person I could hear despite of everyone shouting at me but I couldn't hear anything at all from them. I looked over my shoulder and saw the extreme fear in my girlfriend's eyes.

Shit! What have I done?

I suddenly shifted to calm real quick and that's when I felt the heavy weight of my friends clinging on me.

"Let me go, guys." I said calmly.

"No! Don't let her go!" My sister told them firmly.

"I'm good AJ, I just want to approach my girl, please?" I said and she looked at me in the eye, as if deciphering if it's already safe to let me go. Then she nodded her head and my friends finally let me go.

"Babe.." I called Samantha and approach her slowly, I tried to take her hand but she stepped back. I was hurt but I couldn't blame her as I can still see the fear in her eyes.

I looked at her with glum eyes and tried to reach for her hand again but she still avoided it.

"Babe.. I'm really sorry if I got you scared." I apologize sincerely. "But I'm good now. Please don't be afraid of me."

"Chrysler.." She mumbled and let her tears finally escaped. I quickly approach her and engulf her tightly.

"Hush now my love.. I'm so sorry. I'm really really sorry babe." I said and she her cries grew louder. I know that she's scared at me, even Claire who's standing next to Grace was scared.

"I'm so scared, CJ." She said between her sob and I couldn't stop my own tears as they roll down on my face. I don't know how can I remove the fear in my girlfriend because even myself got scared on myself.

"I'm sorry babe. I really am." I said in my most saddest voice. I felt her pushing me softly so I retracted myself from her and she pad to Claire.

"Claire, can you please stay with me?" She asked and Claire looked at me first and I nod at her. Then they both walked away from the scene while Samantha still crying.

I followed them with my gaze till they both vanished from my sight as they reached the hotel lobby. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder, when I look back, I saw my friends looking at me sympathetically, which made me cry and I breakdown.

"Everything's going to be fine dude." Zairell said while rubbing my back.

"What did I do? How can I let my girlfriend saw the monster inside me." I said between my sobs.

"She was just shock, you need to understand her." Keisha said softly and they all agreed.

I let out a sigh and wiped my tears using my arm like a kid would do if they can't use their shirt.

"Dude, what happened? It's been five years since the last time you became like that? I thought you already removed it from your system?" Yhen asked worriedly.

"I thought so too." I replied.

The incident from last five years repeated and I don't know why. But when I saw that guy staring at my girlfriend's body, I suddenly lose it, my brain seems to have short circuit and then followed with mental block. If Samantha didn't called my name, I would've have hurt my friends as well.

"I have to go for a moment to unwind, and please check on my girlfriend." I said.

"Where are you going? Let us go with you." Yhen said but I shook my head in refusal.

"Thanks but I want to be alone."

"We will let you, but please don't get into trouble, Chrysler." My sister said sternly.

"Don't worry, I'll behave." I said and started to walk away.

"Call us if you're in trouble a'right?" Zairell yelled and I just lifted my hand in the air in an 'ok' sign without looking at them.

I went to a bar that's far from the resort and when I sat down in front of the bar counter, there's a woman immediately sat next to me and greeted me but I didn't even look back at her. First, I have a girlfriend, second, I'm not interested at them because I'm here to have some drink to wind down. It seems that she noticed that I'm not in the mood so she decided to leave me and I'm thankful.

I ordered a hard whiskey and chugged it immediately to make me numb, then I order another one. Until I can feel that my surroundings started moving for my eyes, the walls seems wobbling and the glass I was holding is dancing between my fingers.

A hand tapped my shoulder a bit hard and it pisses me off, I whipped my head behind to look at whoever it is but when I turned around, there's a fist touches my jow with such force and it sends me on the floor with heavy thud.

"F*ck!" I grunt when I felt the pain after my face hit the tiled floor. The crowd screams after they saw the commotion. "Who the f**k are you?!" I yelled after I wiped the blood on my lips.

I couldn't recognized them because my vision were too blur for consuming too much alcohol plus the impact of my fall on the floor and the blow that I received which added to my dizziness. I was trying to stand up but someone kicked me in my stomach and I spit out blood.

"Gugh!" I heaved a deep breath to fill my lung the air I needed and cough violently.

"You f*****g lesbian! You humiliate us earlier, let's see how strong you are now." The guy said and I think they the the guys I beat up this afternoon.

Two of them pulled me up in my arms and hold me firmly. "Ugh!" I grunt when I received another blow on my face. Damn it, they might left scar in my face!

They kept punching my face left and right and in every part of my body, I received them all, because that's the only thing I can do. Until they decided to let go and I fell down. I thought that they are going to stop but they didn't, because they keep kicking me again. I wonder why there is no one trying to help me? are there no guards in here? or are there no bouncers? good Samaritans? anyone? I'm going to die and I need someone to help me!

I was barely breathing and covered with blood when they finally give me last kick on my face and I was trying not to blackout. I kept holding on and breath slowly, I tried to move but my limbs felt so numb, I can't feel my arms as well. And since no one is trying to help me, I let my tears fall down, thinking that this is the day I would die and Samantha's face flashed on my eyes.

"Baby!" She called and I smiled with tears in my eyes. "Chrysler!" She called again and I shut my eyes off, hearing her calling my name makes me want to burst out from crying but I don't have strength to do that, so I just let my mind to think about her until darkness finally succumbed me.

SAMANTHA's POV

I was so scared to witness how CJ loses her control. She's really different from that sweet and naughty CJ that I know. And because of my fear, I didn't let her touch me twice and I know that she was hurt. But what can I do? I'm so scared that time, thinking that she might hurt me too.

Claire decided to bring me back to their shared room and I can't stop from crying. I don't think I'm being over dramatic, I'm scared until now.

The door swung open and CJ's squad entered, they are all looking at me worriedly as they approach me.

"Ok ka na Sammy?" Annabelle asked. I shake my head while biting my lower lip to stop myself from crying but I couldn't help it.

"Sorry if you had to see CJ like that." AJ said apologetically as she sat next to me. That's when I noticed that they weren't with CJ.

"It's okay, its just that I'm really shocked.." I replied and looked at the door. "by the way where is she?"

"She said that she wanted to be alone, maybe she wants to wind up." Keisha said.

"She might get into trouble again." I said worriedly. Even if I'm kinda distant to her, I'm still worried about her.

"She wants to go alone, she said she'll be fine."

"You need to take a rest, Samantha. don't worry about that douchebag." Yhen said cheerfully and everyone laugh softly. "We'll stay here."

"You don't have to, I'm fine." I said sincerely.

"We insist Sammy, we were so worried at you.." Rhea said and I couldn't help but to smile for how concern they are at me. They became my friends and I'm glad that they accepted me and Claire inside their squad.

I just nodded my head and was about to lay down on the bed when I suddenly remember something that I wanted to ask.

"Uh guys, is that how CJ reacts whenever she's mad?" I asked curiously.

They exchanged glances, as if they are fighting with their eyes if who's gonna answer my question. Then AJ releases a deep sigh. Everyone moved and they sat on the floor, as if they began to be interested in what AJ is going to say.

"To be honest.. it's been 5 years since the last time we saw her like that. She was still 14 years old that time when she almost killed because of her anger." AJ started telling the story and it was just the beginning but I can feel the shuddering of my body. "There was this 6 boys tried to hurt Annabelle, Keisha and Angel. She got mad, four of the boys has broken arms, one got fainted and one was in critical condition." She continued and I don't know what am I supposed to feel with that. "And we did the same back then, but our oldest sister was the one who made her stop and from then on, we knew that we shouldn't let Chrysler to get mad as much as possible. Our parents regretted that they let her attend that certain class and gave Chrysler the ability to kill people with her skills, same with these two idiots."

I looked at the squad to confirm if AJ was telling the truth and they looked back at me, as if telling me that all of that is true.

"But don't be afraid of her, Sammy. Even if she has that side of personality, she never, as in never, tried to hurt her loved ones." Zairell said to assure me.

"I know, she will never gonna hurt me, even though I still have things to learn from her past, my feelings for won't get affected." I sincerely said.

"That's my girl!" Claire clapped her hands proudly and patted my head.

"I thought I'm your girl?" Yhen chimes in.

"Don't start on me, Yhen. I'm warning you."

We all laugh with that and decided to continue the story telling about CJ's past. I've learned so much about her and I keep learning in every story she has in the past. Until Zairell's phone rings, interrupting AJ's story.

"Who's this?" She asked and looked at Ruth. "Anne? What do you want?" We all turned to Ruth when she frowned upon hearing that name but when Zairell cussed loudly, our attention went back to her. "f**k! Where is she?!" The worried in her face was so visible that made me feel nervous instantly. "Ok ok we're coming! Bye."

"What happened?" Yhen asked.

"CJ was beaten to death in a bar outside her resort!" She yelled and I suddenly felt frozen in my seat. I saw them all stood up from the floor and panicking, didn't know what are they gonna do. And I know they are talking to me but I can't hear them.

"Sam, Samantha, Sammy!" Zairell yelled while shaking my body, and I snapped back to my senses and jumped off of the bed and run out of the room.

My hands were shaking violently for worrying too much while we're heading to the bar. Claire held them tightly and squeezing to calm me down. I wasted no time when we arrived at the said bar, the same time police arrived and all of us run inside. There were lot of people surrounding that one spot in near the bar counter. I squeezed my way in and I feel like my whole world apart when I saw CJ. She was limping on the floor, covered with her own blood and bruises.

"Baby!" I yelled as I run towards her get on my knees. "Chrysler!" I called as I pick up her head and tapped her face very softly to prevent her from closing her eyes. But she only smiled before her eyes finally flutter. "Baby! Hey!wake up!" I cried and keep tapping her face

"Sammy, we need to bring her in the hospital!" AJ yelled as they carried CJ. "I told you no trouble, Johan!" She scold her sister after they lifted her up. "You need to wake up or mom and dad will kill me!"

"The ambulance is here!" Ruth shouted. The nurses brought a stretcher and they lie CJ in it and put her inside the ambulance in a rush.

Zairell pushed me inside the ambulance as they run back to the SUV and followed us to the hospital. I couldn't stop from crying all the way to the hospital while they are giving CJ first aid and she's still unconscious.

"My god, baby wake up!" I mumbled while holding her hand tightly and kissing her knuckles.

When we arrived at the hospital, they pushed her to the Emergency room to get treated and the nurse had to stop me when we reached the door.

"Ma'am, you can't go inside, you just have to wait here." She said before closing the door.

"Save her please, I'm begging you." I cried even if they couldn't hear me anymore.

The squad arrived and they immediately approach me, Claire engulfed me tightly while we're both crying. After some time, my tears dies down a bit but Zairell and Yhen kept pacing back and forth.

"Guys! Will you please sit down?! I'm getting dizzy!" Rhea sneered at the two.

"It's our fault! If we hadn't let her go alone, it wouldn't have happened to her!" Zai said blaming herself.

"That stupid morons should rot in jail!" Yhen growled.

"Guys calm down.. CJ will be fine, of all people only the two of you should know that." AJ said to calm the two.

"Yeah right.. she's one of a hell fighter.. it's not your fault guys. No one's fault." Anna added.

After almost an hour of waiting, the doctor finally came out from the ER and all of us stood up. "Doc, how's my sister?"

"She's fine now but she's still unconscious. And we need to conduct some x-ray because we saw some fracture in her left rib. She received kicks in her stomach that's why she really need to go on a test." The doctor explained.

"Bullshit!" Yhen growled and punched the white wall next to her. Claire immediately console her to calm her down while I breakdown once again. I started to cry again and Annabelle and Ruth approached me. Almost all of us are crying, blaming ourselves silently. The doctor excused himself but just before he could go, there was an authoritative voice suddenly shouted behind us.

"Aeril Jolan! What the hell happen to your sister?!" A guy in his 50's, yelled.

"D-dad..." AJ stuttered, as if she had just seen a ghost upon seeing her Dad. So he's Mr. Smith? He's with a woman in also her 50s and I assumed she's their mom, then there's another teenager with them.

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith.." The doctor greets and shook hands with the Smith's.

"How's my daughter doc?" The lady asked then the doctor explain exactly what he told us earlier. CJ's mom suddenly breakdown and another minute, she passed out. Luckily, her husband caught her in time before she hit the floor and was brought to another room in this hospital.

We waited for another hour until CJ got moved into another private room next to her mom. The nurse told us that we it's safe to check her now so all of us headed to the said room. When I opened the door, my tears suddenly stream down again upon seeing CJ's poor face.

"B-baby.." I mumbled as I sat on the side of the bed, I took her free arm and hugged it in my chest. "Baby, I'm sorry, if I hadn't been scared of you it wouldn't have happened." I said and cry louder, I felt a hands rubbed my back but I don't have the strength to look back as I'm too weak for CJ's situation. Every each of us have swollen eyes and you can see the exhaustion in our faces.

The door swung open and all of us turned to it. CJ's Dad stepped in with his serious face.

"Care to explain what happened young ladies?" He asked with his stern voice but his eyes bore at his older daughter.

"D-dad... it happened again and when she was alone, those guys takes their revenge." AJ explained, obviously frightened to her dad's presence.

"Why did you let her got into that trouble Aeril?!" He yelled which caused us to flinch but didn't try to say anything. "And you guys! You should not let her be alone in the first place!" He pointed at Zairell and Yhen.

"We're really sorry, Uncle. We didn't know that it would happen." Zairell said with her head hang low.

"This is what I'm talking about when the three of you attended that stupid Muay Thai lesson! I knew that it was really a bad idea!" He yelled again and his hand went to his temple to massage it.

"Dad calm down.. it's not their fault, you do know that Chrysler really close in any trouble whatever she do." The young man said to calm his dad.

"He's right hon. It's nobody's fault. You should calm down, you're scaring the kids." CJ's mom said, she just passed out and yet still decided to go in her daughter as soon as she woke up.

"Alright I'm sorry kids. I'm just worried to Chrys." He sincerely apologize with deep sigh.

"It's okay, Uncle. We understand your frustration." Yhen said.

"B-babe..."

All of us looked to CJ when she called me, she's already awake but could barely open her eyes.

"Baby, I'm here." I said as I took her hand and hold it tightly. "Are you okay?"

"No, I feel like hell." CJ replied with a chuckles, I don't know how could she do that even if she's in pain. She's really unbelievable.

"Chrysler! Oh my god, are you okay?" Her mom called and stood from her wheelchair and walked to the bed on the other side.

"Mom? When did you arrived? And how did you find out what happened?" She asked in surprise when she saw her mom.

"Rose anne called us. My God Chrysler what have you done to yourself?" Her mom scolds but contrary to the tears in her eyes.

"Mom.. I'm ok, don't worry." CJ smiled.

"Sis.. are you okay?" Her youngest sibling asked and stood next to his mom.

"Call me sis one more time and I'll put you in my position here." CJ threatened as if she wasn't in pain at all that she could still joke like that.

"How can you still be silly while you're in that situation?!" CJ's dad said and I have this urge to say EXACTLY! but I decided to shut my mouth and moved back to give him way to his daughter.

"Dad.. I'm fine, don't get mad, it doesn't help the economy.."

"You're really unbelievable Chrysler!" Her Dad exclaimed, throwing his hand in the air but I had a glimpsed of smile in his lips.

"Oh by the way since all of you are here. I would like you to meet Samantha, my girlfriend.." CJ suddenly introduced and she extend her arm. Damn I wasn't prepared. "Babe this is my mom Virgie, that was my dad Oscar, and that little man right there is Oscar the third." Her mom walked around to the bed and hugged me gracefully.

"Oh! You're so beautiful. No wonder my daughter is so crazy over you." Her mom said which made me feel shy.

"Thank you ma'am, you're beautiful too."

"Too formal, call me mommy."

"Yes ma'am, I mean, mommy." I smiled.

"Wow sis! You really had a good taste, she's really beautiful." Her brother compliment and I can't act the way I wanted to because of embarassment, not because I did something stupid but they are complimenting my beauty too much.

"Of course, why would I choose mad ugly woman?" CJ proudly said and everyone laugh at her cockiness.

"So your the unlucky girl that captured my daughter's heart." Her dad said as he offered his hand that I quickly reached and we shakehands with smiles on our lips.

"Dad! Why you're so rude to me?" CJ whines and rolled her eyes.

"Who's the other beautiful young ladies here?" Her mom asked while looking at Claire and Ruth.

"Ahm auntie, this is Claire, my future girlfriend." Yhen proudly introduce, earning an elbow on her stomach from Claire before the latter extend her arm.

"Hi, I'm Claire, Samantha's best friend.."

"I think Yhen just assumed it already." her aunt teased Yhen and she didn't accept Claire's hand, instead she hugged her and kissed her.

"This is Ruth. My girlfriend.." Zairell introduce but unlike with me and Claire, CJ's mom paused for a moment. "Auntie?"

"Oh I'm sorry Zai, I'm just surprised. Nice to meet you Ruth.."

"Well you've got your new girlfriends huh? So I assumed that y'all have to behave now." CJ's dad said.

"Dad I'm behave, unlike this two." CJ's defense.

"Oh yeah? Who's lying in a hospital bed right now?" Yhen mocked and everyone laugh.
