Chapter 2The next morning, I wake up rested for the first time in forever, having slept through most of the night without coughing fits. After a shower, I feel almost normal, so I make some coffee, gulp down breakfast, then take up residence on the couch with my laptop, determined to get some work done. Hours fly by and I get a lot of tasks crossed off my mile-long to-do list, and when I finally run out of steam and check my watch, it’s lunchtime. No wonder my energy dipped. I shuffle my way to the kitchen and heat the rest of yesterday’s soup. I snap a picture of it and send it to Anne, so she’ll see I’m a good boy doing what I’m told for once.
