Chapter 2:Mia's pov

1030 Words
I couldn't see clearly. The place felt stuffy. They removed the bag from my head, but the room was dark. I could hear the noises from above, they were partying. I was on a ship but to where? My eyes scan the dark place. It was silent. So silent that I could hear the voice of my thoughts. I couldn't believe dad would sell me off, like a dog. The music on the ship was louder than any other. I zoned but I was stuck on how my dad sold me off like I didn't mean anything, he didn't need me. I sit up, raising my knees and using it as a support for my head. My throat was dry, my lip busted. The cold engulfed me and took me into its chilly embrace. I sobbed silently. The only family I could rely on sold me out. I had no idea where they were taking me too but I know it's nowhere good. The door opens and two hefty men enter, "Why is this one not with the others?" the first man said, his eyes searching the room. I shift, curling up in the corner to protect myself. "I don't know. Maybe she slipped." The other man responded. "Take her then." the first one said to the other one, looking at him. They carry me. Struggling wouldn't do anything, I was tired at this point. I allowed them to drag me out, but they put the bag over my head again, making my vision partial. The sun felt too hot for my skin, I was still in my night dress that exposed half of my breasts and a reasonable amount of my legs. The men took me into what looked like a circus. There were a lot of people. All shouting and all of them men. The cigars and the alcohol filled the atmosphere. I follow them willingly and they push me to the back of a tent. "Next on our list, our number 6. Young and beautiful, young enough to carry your kids." the announcer said. The old men snorted and laughed like hyenas. "The bid starts! Going for 60,000 dollars!" The announcer shouted. Oh no! I was in a f****ing auction. I listen as they sell girl after girl. Suddenly, they push me to the front of the tent. My eyes get used to the bright light that follows when the bag is removed. "This one is not too young, she is old but she will do just right!" the announcer said, squeezing my skin to make me look ripe to the hungry men. "No! She is not young enough." one man shouted in front. "Drop the bid price!" Another shout. "She is beautiful, going for 89,000 dollars!" The announcer shouted. I couldn't believe it. My head was down, I looked dirty. Like a rag. I look down, picking at my fingers waiting for someone to buy me. "89,000 dollars!" A man shouted in front. "Going for 89… "100,000 dollars!" another man shouted. "Going for 100 dollars… "150,000 dollars" another shout "Going for 150… "1 million." a man said at the back. I looked up instantly because that was a high amount. He came face to face with me. His eyes held mine. It was communication with no words at all. His broad shoulders could be seen even at the back, he was huge. His black hair shone better than the white nightgown I wore. "Going for 1 million…sold!" the announcer says. The man walks, slowly and gracefully to the stage. He opens his palms, his hand to me. I stand there and watch him. "I would need my item, wouldn't I?" He asks. I looked at his face, he was so beautiful. His chiseled face looked surreal. Wow. The announcer pushed me and I fell off the stage, pathetically. ****** He sat facing me in the car, watching me so intently, the ride was so silent. He smelt expensive, I knew he was rich. I didn't know what was uncomfortable, the way his eyes raked me or the silence in the car. "Your legs are dirty." He says and takes his handkerchief, cleaning my feet. I felt something in my stomach. Butterflies or - "We need to clean you up when we get home." Home. He simply says and soon enough the car comes to a stop. The mansion was so huge, something I hadn't seen before. He held my hand, leading me into the mansion. He was so gentle. He is meant to be my master but I felt more like a guest. "You need to eat." He says and calls the maid to cook up something for me. They take me up to the rooms, making me wash in a bubble bath. Everything felt surreal. I wanted to wake up from this dream. The gentleness of this man. "Why are you so gentle with me?" I ask when I get down to meet him, my voice as soft as it could be. His blue eyes looked at me and he chuckled softly. "Come, Maria has served the food." He said, leading me to the large dining area. The food was good, too good. The best I have ever tasted. He chewed the food delightfully. He was handsome indeed. I watched him eat more than I ate. I was satisfied watching him eat. "Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked him, he just bought me. The thought of being sold for a million dollars was still hard to adjust. "I liked the product." He said and continued eating. My heart did a flip back, of course, I am the product. "You better eat, you look like you would pass out." He said and cleaned the corners of his lips with the napkin on the table. Classy. His table etiquette was indeed top-notch. I wanted to say something else but the siren noises outside beat me to it. Everyone seemed calm like they were expecting someone to walk out the door. My head turned in distraction as the sound of heels clicking on the floor enveloped the room. "If it isn't my dear son."
