My head tilts as I look back at my excited mate while he anticipates my response; a wide grin still decorating his angelic face as he patiently waits for my answer, unaware of the panic building within my frozen body. I feel a powerful concoction of emotions stir from inside of me; an overwhelming tidal wave growing, formed by fear and doubt as they crash against one another. I allow the worry to take root, weakly submitting to its force as it consumes my clouding mind while the weight of Elijah’s request begins to gather on my trembling shoulders.
