“f**k!” I cursed, lying flat on my stomach, then crawled through the glass to Fiona where I shielded her lithe body with my own. “It’s okay, we’re okay,” I said quickly, even as she started to hyperventilate. “We’re fine. They don’t know we’re not armed—they don’t know we’re not armed. They’re not going to come in. Not yet.” I wrapped her in my arms and held her tight, even as the other windows were blown out and glass rained down.
