The company Julie worked at didn’t have anything against coworkers fraternizing, and now for some silly reason she wanted it added to the list of rules.
Sure, it would break a lot of relationships, hearts too, but then, maybe –just maybe– it would spare her heart the odd flutter it did whenever she met with her boss, Mark Calligan… which was an every day occurrence obviously.
He cornered her one afternoon after work, just as she was putting her phone in her purse. “Are you avoiding me, Julie?”
