Later that evening, after I’d moved the tenants affected by the water damage to another unit and done some paperwork, I texted Dimitry that I’d be bringing a friend with me on the weekend and would that be okay. He texted back that he would love to meet my new friend. I spent the rest of the week dealing with minor crises, evicting delinquent lessees, and letting the anticipation build for Saturday with Dimitry and Nolan. Nolan and I had messaged each other from time to time, mainly to get details about the upcoming visit, as well as the funeral that was planned for the late Mr. Flannigan.
