Chapter 7 “Are you awake yet?!” Jen’s voice shook me awake, my eyes wide open. Sweat dripped down my back as threads of the twisted woods lingered like cobwebs, pulling me back into my dream. I stared up at the white ceiling, my insides not feeling right, somehow tangled like part of me remained in the dream. The part that couldn’t quite remember what day it was, what I’d done last. An in-between world where I floated freely. Stormy clouds cast shadows through the window, reflecting the trees outside like broken and gnarled branches. Something about them looked familiar, and not because I’d seen them in my dreams or in my room before.
