Nathan POV

“Come on Nathan , you don’t have to act so irrational like that .”Max pleaded with me for I don’t even have no idea the number of times but I did not give a damn about it at all . That woman had angered me so much and sincerely I did not know if I was easily going to give her a second chance.

“Matt just leave me alone . We have so many things that we even have to do . Don’t mind about her.” I replied with totally no interest at all .

“You are just speaking but since we sat here you have not done anything creative . I can clearly see that your mind is far away from here .” he challenged me back . Damn it , I could see that my best friend was more of testing me at this moment .

I just rolled my eyes at him this time and without giving him a verbal reply stood up and headed towards the table getting one of the files that we had not yet opened .I stared into the file but I was not making out anything at all .

Everything get going back to Rain . I wondered where she was at this moment . She was in bad shape when she left . it has been so many hours but there is no sign of here . I did not know much about her but I also was sure that she did not have many people that she knew in the city .

I wondered where her family was. Maybe it was going to be the only way that could help me spot where she was . That way I would be settled knowing that she is with her family . Even if she regarded me as someone who was even worse compared to her ex-husband, I still had some concern in me that was left towards her.

“Matt, get the capable connect to the system .” I said out of the blue . I also could not even tell how I had just got to do this .

“What ?” Matt replied totally surprised by what I had just said .

“Don’t look at me that way . Just do what I have just told you to do .” this time I was totally angry. I knew I was not supposed to act that way towards him but I could not help it . I was just failing to control my temper that is all .

“okay.”he replied and did just what I had told him to do . I stood set already having the idea of what I wanted to do . I grew a bit nervous but I was not going to go back . I had to do this no matter what . The moment everything was set , I knew this was the time .

I sat down and typed on the search bar , ‘Rain’

“What , so you want to say that you want to stalk the divorced woman ?”

“Don’t call her divorced, she is called Rain .”

“Okay, whatever you call it still remains the same as that she is divorced.”

“Okay , whatever you say . I just have to do this .” I said not minding out at all and went on to begin reading the results of what had been given. There were of course very many results of so many different Rains but none of them were exactly for the person that I wanted .

I scrolled throughout but there was nothing exactly that I got out of it . because there was not a result of her .

“One time you are saying that you don’t want anything to do with her and yet after another second you are trying to find out about her.”

“It does not matter , I just want you to contact a private investigator . I want him to get my all information that he call get about Rain,”

“it can be her family , her love life , education and everything else.” Before he could reply , his phone rang . I stared at him as he pinckingly gazed at it . His face suddenly changed . I could see that he was seriously not okay .

Since o have known him for quite a long time, I could see that there was something that he was hiding . I wonder what it was since we never hide anything from each other no matter what .

“I will pick this call.” He excused himself and instantly left the room . This was another red flag for me. It was now more than clear that there was something that he was hiding from me . Any way , I was going to see about this very soon .

He came back about ten minutes later telling me that he had to leave for something very urgent . Since I was already exhausted and needed to rest.

“It is okay , we shall talk tomorrow .” I replied as he got ready to go .

The night was a strange one for me , though I had gotten something very serious as far as my business was concerned I was actually not even thinking about it at all. All my mind was rather on one scenario and that was Rain .

At first , there was only one thing that I wanted with her but at this moment I felt like she was my responsibility. What made me almost loss my head at the moment was where the hell was she. Perhaps she had gone back to her ex-husband.

Oh no . I doubt if she could do that after what had happened to her to the extent that she lost her baby . Wolf is indeed a heartless human than what I had even thought of him. I now hated him even more compared to how I had .

That night , I tossed from one side of the bed to the other as so many scanty thoughts roamed in my head .
