Chapter 11: On the Field

Vanmer Stadium
I was on the Vanmer Stadium field with my digital Nikon and snapped fast-action pictures of a head to head football game between the Vipers and the Cleveland Cougars. Although one of the league’s officials was missing from the field, the game was still on. The second quarter had just begun and the score was 7 to 7. The Vipers had the ball and were on fire. Corey Buttermill, the Vipers’ quarterback called out a few numbers on the line of scrimmage to the center, Rod Peterson. Rod snapped the ball to Corey. Corey then tipped it to the tailback, Wesley Pines. Pines ran the ball through a trio of wall-size Cougars and was brought down on the nine yard line. The Vipers were now first and goal.
