Chapter 24: Overbrook Rocks
8:06 P.M.
Overbrook Rocks sat three miles south of Vanmer and drew in quite the crowd on the weekends. Fortunately the place wasn’t busy after Matthew and I left Malady’s and decided to tromp through its semi-illuminated caves. Admission to become lost in the underground maze seemed cheap compared to all the fun a visitor of the attraction could have. Narrow and rocky passageways led into the earth. Manmade torchlights that burned a golden hue lined the stony trails. One could spend hours in the sedimentary maze, which zigzagged through the earth for over a mile.
Matthew tucked one of his hands over mine and escorted me through the maze. We climbed over, crawled through, and skirted rocks with very little skill. We laughed, felt a bit claustrophobic, and lost
