Winter Hart I awoke with a start. I blinked away the stinging in my eyes and let out a groan. I must have cried myself to sleep, and now I was feeling it. My head pounded, and my tongue felt thick. My entire body ached as I rolled over. Snowy meowed beside me and I groaned again. I felt hungover as I slowly opened an eye to look at her. “Shush, it's been a long night,” I scolded. Truth is, I had no idea what time it was. Had it been a few hours or was it the next day? But I didn’t want to get out of bed, even though I needed water. My tummy grumbled on cue. And food. I threw the blanket off and sat up. Feeling a chill, I looked down to see I was still in my robe, and it had opened in my sleep.
