Lycans and werewolves

Deacon's POV

I am a bit worried about how the werewolves in the kingdom will react to us being Lycans. It is a known fact that the werewolves of old hated the Lycans. Maybe the King and Queen can break the news to the pack in this kingdom, and they will not stone us to death on our first public appearance. I look at Daniela sleeping soundly next to me. I know I must wake her up, or we will be late for the meeting with the King, Queen, and the others. She looks so beautiful in her sleep, and I want to stay here all day keeping her to myself, but I know I can not be selfish as the kingdom will need us one of these days, and the wolves will have to accept us first. I want to protect her against the hurt and bad words and against hunters coming after you, as most hunters have become trophy hunters. Some became bounty hunters, and the worst has begun to work for humans to prove supernatural creatures exist.

I wake Daniela up. She looks confused as she wakes up and does not realize at first where she is. She sits up and rubs her eyes, and stretches out like a little kitten. I grab her into my arms and kisses her. She looks so cute I could not resist. She throws her arms around my neck and kisses me back. I feel her naked body next to mine, and I feel I am getting hard. Time to get up before this gets out of hand and we are late for the meeting. I push Daniela away from me. We really do not have time for s*x right now as we still need to take a shower. I get up. I get the bag Lana gave me yesterday, and to my surprise, there is a uniform from Daniela and me in it. The Kingdom uniform.

"We need to go, baby, we will be late for the meeting, and we do not have time to play around right now,?" I say to her, and she pulls a face.

"Can't we stay here in bed all day?" She asks.

"I wish," I say.

"Well, let's take a shower and get dressed," She says, and we get up and take a quick shower. Then, we dress in our Kingdom Uniforms, and for once, I feel part of something in my long existence. I feel proud to wear the kingdom uniform, and it fits me perfectly. I guess the witch that makes these uniforms knows how to measure someone from a distance.

"Are you ready for today?" I ask. I am still worried about how the rest of the wolves in the kingdom will react once they find out that we are lycans.

"I am ready for anything with you next to me. I know some of the wolves in the kingdom may not be happy because the two of us are lycans, and we will have to convince them that we can be trusted and are not like the lycans of old," Daniela says.

"They may get mean, darling, and I do not want you to get hurt by their words. Remember, everyone is scared of the unknown, and Lycans have not been around for hundreds of years, so do not take it to heart," I warn Daniela. I know she loves the werewolves of the kingdom, and she has known since she can remember. I might be immune to insults, but Daniela might not be. Daniela looks at me and smiles.

"I know, and I know you are worried that their words may hurt me as I grew up with the wolves of the Kingdom and know most of them, but I can be strong, and I will not let them insult you," Daniela says.

We run go through the tunnels again and run down the mountain. News spreads fast around the kingdom as we can see all the wolves have gathered at the Castle. As we approach, they make way for us. Some look at us curiously, others with admiration, but most look at us with mistrust in their eyes. Well, I guess our meeting with the king and queen will have to wait until we talked to the werewolves.

"How do we know we can trust these lycans?" An elder asks as we approach the stage where the king and Queen are standing, trying to calm everyone down. I take Daniela's hand as we walk to the stage.

"They saved this kingdom from Jackson, the hunter, and they gave their lives doing it! The Moon Goddess turned them herself into Lycans," The Queen says. I can see she is angry and ready to rip someone's throat out.

"Yeah, but they can turn into the Lycans of old. We all know how they were as it is written all over our history books," An Alpha shouts from the crowd. Daniela and I go and stand in front of the King and Queen.

"Let me answer that question for you. Daniela and I are not like the Lycans of old as we can be killed easier and do not think of ourselves as a god and goddess. I trust all of you enough to tell you. You can kill us by decapitation. We respect our creator, the Moon Goddess, and we pledge to her to protect the werewolves of this kingdom against all enemies. You may not know me, but I am Deacon. I was an original vampire, and I could have killed all of you a long time ago if I wished. Instead, I chose to protect you, and for years I was patrolling your borders, keeping the hunters and the dark witches away from you. Let me ask you all something. Do you trust the Moon Goddess? Do you think she will let any harm come to her children? Was she not the one that allowed the Lycans of old to be killed and destroyed? Do you think she would allow us to live and turn into Lycans if we posed a threat to her beloved werewolves?" I ask, and I see the werewolves talking among each other.

"He is right. The Moon Goddess gave Claudia and me a chance to become werewolves as we did well in her eyes. She could not help Deacon any other way than to turn him and Daniela into lycans. It was the only way they could be together. They are the Romeo and Juliet of werewolves. Their love was forbidden as one was an original vampire and the other a Royal wolf. They died together, but unlike Romeo and Juliet, they came back to life better than they were in their previous lives, and they can now be together. Instead of being afraid of them, we should celebrate them. The lives they gave up. Their love for each other. They will become our guardians, and what other Kingdom can say they have a lycan King and Queen?" Demetri speaks up dramatically as usual, but I appreciate him helping us.

"Besides, King Aiden and I have decided to give up the throne to Deacon and Daniela as we feel they are the best to protect this kingdom and the werewolves around this kingdom against any threat that may come our way," Queen Alexandria says.

"You all know me since I was a child. Did I ever treat anyone of you like I am better than you? It is true what Deacon said. The Moon Goddess gave us a choice, and we chose to come back and protect you. We could have stayed with her and still be together forever, but she told us that you would need us. So I, Daniela Romanescu, promise to protect all of the werewolves that come to me for help," Daniela says, and I am surprised that she took my surname.

"We are sorry we doubted you. We have talked among ourselves, and we know the Moon Goddess will not do anything to harm us. Besides, the new king has trusted us enough to tell us how we can kill you if we need to. Someone that wants to do us harm will not tell us that, as you trusted us, Deacon Romanescu, the new king of the werewolves. So we will trust you and swear our allegiance to you and Queen Daniela," The head of the werewolf council says, and all the werewolves cheer.

"We will have the strongest King and Queen of the werewolf world. We still have many questions, but we must prepare for the crowning of the new King and Queen. The questions we have we can sort out later. I am glad we have the two of you in the kingdom as we know we will need you soon as the Moon Goddess has brought you back to life as Lycans. We trust the Moon Goddess as she can see the future, and we can not," The head of the elders says. I can see King Aiden, and Queen Alexandria feels relieved. Daniela is smiling, and the werewolves are happy.

The wolves are getting busy, and the elders are getting busy arranging the ceremony. I have to link with all of them, and the linking ceremony, like all werewolf ceremonies, is blood ceremonies. We go to the King's office as we still do not know who our enemy will be, and we know asking the Moon Goddess will do us no good as she is not allowed to warn us. We close the door behind us when all of us are in the room. Lana and Walter sit on the couch, and I can see they are getting really old now. I know Daniela will be sorrowful the day they die, but it is life, and we all will have to come to terms with it when that day arrives. For now, I do not want to think of that day as I already love the two old werewolves like they are my family. I have been watching them all for so long, and I have seen the good hearts they have. Lana even wanted to save Ivan, my lying, deceiving brother. May his soul be with Hades.

"I do not know what we can expect for the future, but it must be horrible as the golden wolves, and two lycans will be needed to defeat it,"  Walter says.

"You think it may have something to do with humans and the hunters? I have seen hunters working with humans lately to uncover the supernatural, but I don't know if the hunters want to expose us as they never provide enough proof for the humans," King Aiden says.

"That is true. The hunters are using the humans to make money, and exposing us as real will cause them to stop getting money. As long as they can keep humans guessing, they are making money," I say.

"I feel something big and bad is coming. It may not be a creature, it may be something humans do, or it may be a powerful warlock or dark witch. But, I feel like it will be something not within our control until it threatens not just us but every creature on this planet," Claudia says. We all look at her, and she looks worried.

"We all know humans possess nuclear weapons, and world war can happen at any time. I have been through two of them, but I do not think humans will use it as they know it can kill everyone on earth," I say.

"I also feel it will not be something like that, as I know humans, they will not use all the power they have as they all are afraid to die. So it can be a pandemic caused by humans or someone like a warlock," Claudia says.

"Yeah, but then how do we fight it?" Daniela asks.

"You are right. It will be something or someone we have to fight physically, or else the Moon Goddess would not have given us you two and the golden wolves," Claudia says.

"Well, no use for us to speculate. We will take it when the day comes," Lana says.

"I agree, and it is time to get you two ready for the ceremony," Queen Alexandria says as she takes Daniela's hand and leads her out. I stay behind with King Aiden, Demetri, and Walter. They tell me what I will have to do during the ceremony and teach me what to say. I smile as I have a family again. Aiden and Walter treat me like a son, and my heart feels warm.
