No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to focus on work. Between my aching shoulder, my guilt for sneaking out of Adriano's penthouse the way I did, and my thoughts continually rotating around to my old man and the fact he made me into a bargaining chip, I was struggling to say the least. Seriously, who does that to their own flesh and blood?
Every time I thought back to when I was a kid, I wondered if he really cared about me like I thought he had. What if I had never meant anything at all? What if he had knocked my mom up just to get money from someone? What if this whole thing had been a plan prior to me being born? What if Rex and Adriano were lying to me? No, why would they lie about something so horrendous?
