MADELINE POV
Oh my god. I cannot believe that I just did that. I’ve never done that before. F*ck my life. Work is going to be interesting. I have a million thoughts running through my mind. The biggest one being; where does this put Damien and I. “I think you’re going to burn a hole into my chest with all of the thinking that you’re doing.” he chuckles. I roll my eyes, looking up at him “I guess since I’m being bold tonight, what does this mean to you?” He looks lost in thought for a moment. “Well, I would be thrilled if you decided to continue whatever this is. I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind since we met. This is just icing on the cake.” he winked. I think that my cheeks are just going to stay a permanent shade of fuchsia when I’m around him. I smiled “I’d definitely like to explore whatever this is.” “You can explore any part of me you want.” he winked again. I smacked his chest. “You can’t go five minutes without cracking a joke, can you?” He looked up in fake thought, shook his head “Nope.” he said, popping the p. “Well, I would like to get to know you a little better. What is your favorite color?” He smiled “Easy. Green. What’s yours?” he asked. “Yellow. What do you like to do in your free time?” He thought about it for a moment “I enjoy the ocean. Walking on the pier or the beach. Creating drinks. I kind of love amusement parks.” “I’ve actually never been to one.” He sat up, looking at me for any deception “You’re joking, right?” Shaking my head “Nope” I said, popping the p and smiling. “Alright, we’re going to an amusement park this week.” he said excitedly. We went back and forth, asking questions and learning more about each other. Damien wanted children some day, I wasn’t so sure about it myself. If he didn’t end up following bartending, he was going to join the military. I couldn’t really picture that. Though I’m glad that he went with bartending. Otherwise, we would have never met. We talked for hours until we were both barely able to keep our eyes open. I fell asleep nuzzled into his side.
I woke up on the couch, snuggled up to a warm body. Memories of last night flooded my mind. I am still in shock that I’m laying here in Damiens arms. He’s snoring slightly, so I take this time to admire him a little closer. Running my hand up and down his impeccably toned body. Watching the rise and fall of his chest. I lay my head over his heart, listening to the rhythmic thumping. I carefully sit up a bit, admiring his features. Damien is handsome. He’s got soft features. I reach up, lightly running my thumb along his bottom lip. They’re surprisingly plush and smooth. He’s got long lashes and definitely looks younger than 28. “Like what you see?” he whispers huskily, opening his eyes slightly. “You are very handsome.” I say, boldly. I’m not sure what has gotten into me, but with Damien, I feel like a whole new person. “I’m glad that you think so” he smiles, leaning down and kissing me gently. I have the foreign feeling of butterflies in my stomach while he’s kissing me. I’ve never really been with a man. Never been in a relationship. Or whatever this is, I’ve never experienced this. But it feels amazing. “I think that I can feel the gears turning whenever you think. What is on your mind?” Damien questioned. I chuckled “I was just thinking about how all of this is so foreign to me. But it’s really nice.” He snuggled closer to me “You are perfect, you know?” I feel the heat on my cheeks again and decide to bury my face in his chest. He pulls back a bit, tipping my chin up to look at him. “I’m serious. You don’t have to hide from me. I’m really excited to see where this is going to go.” I feel like I can’t form words. Like I might choke up if I try and speak. Young Madeline never thought that she would experience love. Love? What am I saying. I audibly gulp, willing myself to speak “I’d really like to see where this goes too.” He smiles, leaning down and attacking my mouth with a passionate kiss.
