Chapter Nine

1206 Words
Without thinking twice she grabs his face between her hands and smashes their lips together The prince stumbles back caught off guard by her actions. She expected him to push her away, rain curses at her, but Alex never pegged that he would kiss her back. His lips moved against hers. Their mouths moved together in sync as he pulled her close to him, his cool chest pressed against his warm torso Her hands found their way into his silky strands as she melted into him, ignoring the tiny alarm bells in her head warning her to stop. His tongue prodded her lips demanding subtle entrance which she gave him, savoring the taste as he explored the caverns of her mouth, inhaling deeply as he devoured her They kept caressing each other sensually until she is suddenly pushed away. She stumbles back and nearly falls to the ground but manages to catch herself before that. Albert is looking down at her with wide eyes filled with disbelief He doesn't understand why he had suddenly kissed her like that. And the fact that he even enjoyed it made him even more terrified. He looks at Alex accusingly as if to blame her for initiating the contact. Alex gets back to her feet just as Albert walks past her without saying a word. She could already feel that he was incredibly angry, but she wasn't sure who. " Asshole" She continues her walk to the bathroom as if nothing happened, soon she finds herself once more curled under the bedsheets beside Juliana and falls asleep * * * When she returns home the next morning her eyes are swollen up from a restless sleep. Throughout the night she kept having dreams about the war she had been fighting and her tragic death. She kept seeing the faces of her mother and friends back home, all filled with grief at her death Alexandra pushes her hair as she walks out of the carriage. She is surprised to spot her father dining in the gardens with her older prince and the elf prince. They all had on serious faces as if discussing a very dire topic and she hadn't wanted to interrupt, but the only route to the mansion was also that direction so she had no other choice " Good morning" She gives a simple greeting that attracts the men's attention. She intends to end the conversation there and be on her merry way but her father spoke before she could escape " What happened Alexandra? You look unsettled" " Not at all" " You did not sleep at the manor" The man observed while examining his daughter's tired appearance. He looks on to his eldest child for an explanation " She was over at the Everett manor" " Who said she could stay the night there" Edwin glances at her briefly before looking back at his father. " I thought it would bring her some closure to spend time around friends. It was my fault" Alex was speechless. Why was it Edwin's fault again? Wasn't it Ryan who had left her behind? But seeing Edwin take the blame on account for herself and her brother made her feel that he wasn't such a bad person. He was even willing to protect his younger siblings from taking the blame. Although others might see it as not pampering " I see" James Silva didn't have the heart to scold his child. He already knew that it was Ryan who had left his daughter in school but of course, Edwin would take the blame, it was just how protective he was of his siblings. He turns his eyes to his daughter and gives her an affectionate smile. " Go over and get some more rest Alex" " Okey" She turns to walk off but not without stealing a glance at the prince sited by her brother's side. He was just so handsome that one couldn't help stealing a glance Unfortunately, Loe caught her stealing a glance at him and sent her a warm smile. The girl whipped around in embarrassment and hurriedly shuffled away. It was only Edwin that noticed the short interaction between them and his brows creased up in a slight frown, but he didn't say anything These few days he's been noticing just how strange his youngest sibling was acting. She became somewhat wilder in behavior and also mannerless. Before she would have never dared to go against his orders and was even afraid of him, but now that fear was no longer present and she became so relaxed around him that she would refer to him by his name And it seems that she had overcome her long time of infatuation with the crown prince. Why else would she so shamelessly ogle the guest? This sister of his needed a manner checks if not she might get even more unrestrained. It was probably his father's fault for spoiling her so much from birth Meanwhile, Alexandra makes her way into the mansion and heads straight for her room. When she opens her door she is surprised by yet another appearance. The person sitting on her bed wasn't her nanny but the brother who had abandoned her school yesterday Ryan was sitting on her bed holding something in his hands. He was staring down at it intently while his long silver hair shielded his face. He looked up and his bright silver eyes stared at her on noticing her footsteps " Did you come back already?" He smiles at her and gestured over for her to come to sit beside him. Alexandra obeyed and walked to sit on the soft bedding. She looked down and saw that what Ryan was looking at was a painting. She had seen Emilia fussing over it before when she had accidentally knocked it off the bedside table. The painting had all the male members of the Silva family including the mother who had passed away at childbirth At that time Alexandra wasn't yet and so she wasn't a part of the picture. But just seeing it now she could see the smiles on their faces and just how happy they were. It was truly a happy family indeed. Maybe back then Edwin wasn't as much as an ice barge as he was now " What's wrong?" " Nothing. I just forgot that this picture was still here. " Ryan smiles but then frowns upon realizing something. " I think this is the only copy left though" " If you want I can tell Edwin to make another copy. No need to look so sad" " I am not sad. I just get lost sometimes" " Was she a good person?" " The best. Although you never met her am sure you also miss her" " I do miss her" She missed her mother back home. If only she could have said goodbye then it would have been better " The thought that I'd never be able to see her is traumatizing" Ryan holds her closely suddenly feeling bad he brought up the topic. They sat like that in silence both lost in thoughts until they eventually had to get ready for the day
